Why should you buy this product ?If your desktop has a Display Port that you wish to use, you can either buy a DP to DP cable, DP to HDMI cable, DP to VGA cable, DP to HDMI adapter or a DP to VGA adapter (this product).If you don't have extra cables with you (HDMI / VGA), you should buy the DP to HDMI or DP to VGA cables. (Reduces the number of connections). If you already have cables, the adapters are cheaper to buy.Before buying anything, check the connection options behind your monitor. Some units, like the Dell professional monitors have all three options - VGA, DP and HDMI. In such a case, DP to DP will provide the best signal. Else, DP to HDMI will be a better alternative. DP to VGA will make the image a little duller and less sharp. (This is absolutely normal, since VGA is an analog signal.)In my case, I needed to connect my work laptop and my home desktop to the same monitor. The Samsung monitor has a HDMI and a VGA port. The HDMI is already in use with a laptop, so I bought this DP to VGA adapter and am using a regular VGA cable with it.Works fine. Image is perfectly usable and the product is worth the amount paid.

Recieved next day and immediatly found it looks good in package and delivery wise.Product is nice, comparable with price and working like charam. Make sure all the pins are connected tightly otherwise u may see pixelated glitches. Mine fit perfectly to rtx3080 for my 2nd monitor. I recommend it only if u have no idea of buying new monitor. I use benq monitor which is working perfectly with display port of gou but for 2nd monitor i done want to give it away so purchased this extension and i made a good decision.Go for it. Worth the price. Check all pin holes once u recieved the product. Clear the dust if anything u see and use.

With all the negative reviews I was very suspicious about buying this product but since the need was compelling I had no choice but to opt for it.Now after having used for like a month or so I can confidently assert that it's worth a purchase for me.It works just as intended with a compromised picture quality when the extension was made over 10 meters but not sure of shorter wire.So if you don't expect the same clarity as in your primary tv you can go for it.I think with very little option for the kind of need I had I would suggest you to go for it.Re-writing this review after less than two month. It has stopped working and I'm getting to believe that this product is not durable and not reliable. Downgrading it's star rating from 5 to 1.

System specs -CPU: Intel i15 8th GenGPU: Nvidia GTX 1050 TiMonitor: Dell 21.5 inch VGA inputHave been using it for just over a month now, and faced no issues thus far.The adapter can get warm but never too hot, have been using the adapter for primarily for the secondary screen which doesn't involve refreshing screen a lot.There's no decipherable latency either, works just as native would.

It doesn't work for me. I wanted mi box 4K to AV. Amazon returned, replaced the item but it didn't work. I tried another hdmi,device, but this time only sounds, and shows on my player and not in AV display, that not supported. But Thanks Again Amazon, they Refunded my amount.

Resently I purchasedTerabyte Generic VGA to HDMI from Amazon the supplier wasMyITonline .I found USB power cable was missing.I had my own cable,so I could connect.I have connected it from my old laptop to my Sony TV. It is running well.Regarding picture quality, it support 1080p don't expect the quality that you get when you play from your USB,CD or from Net.I would connect with my PC and HDMI Cable to my TV with not much difficulty.Before connecting you should have audio cable, HDMI cable and VGA cable.USB power cable should come with the device.

Please note that you could use this to display a video from VGA to HDMI lime your monitor or TV display.You have to purchase the following(1) VGA connection cable from laptop to Terabyte device(2) HDMI cable from Terabyte device to TV or Monitor etc(3) AUX sound cable ( not needed if you manage with source sound or speaker etc)coming to review :(1) Picture quality is good ( can't say excellent as I do not have any HD to verify)(2) sound also has satisfactory clarity(3) video and audio sync is good and no latency between video and audioThough this set up is clumsy with so many cables, no option.But this device is good and could buy it at this price.
