Know what to expect
I've used henna a handful of times because I love the thought of no chemicals on my hair. Henna, by definition, is a bit messy but I think it's worth it. It does not smell pleasant and you need to know what to expect. I've seen some of the reviews saying 'it didn't lighten hair' and 'don't expect it to function like a box dye.' I think these things should be obvious, especially when it says in the description that the blonde henna will not lighten your hair. And for me, the reason I use it is because it doesn't function like a box dye. I've used the red in the past (i have dark blonde hair) and it says it will wash out in about 6 weeks but it stayed in my hair until I cut all of it out, so that was kind of a bummer. I wanted just a temporary, fun change. This time I tried the blonde to bring out my natural highlights and to kind of blend in the gray that is appearing around my temples. It won't cover gray hair but I'm satisfied with how it does help them to blend in. However, my error was that I didn't follow the directions completely and I'm not sure I got optimal results. But the great thing about henna is that you can apply it as often as you like. So I'll be trying it using the proper directions and I'm certain I'll be happy with it. If you want to nurture your hair instead of applying chemicals and amonia, give henna a try. I really think you'll like it.

not much luck
i did two full on applications on my whitish hair, leaving it on extra long, wrapped tight and even using a hot blow dryer to keep the wrapping warm, but ended up with little or no color. maybe blonde has the hardest time really working. hopefully the darker shades give good color, but this was a disappointment after a lot of effort... just sayin'

Wonderful results
I am thrilled with the results. My hair was falling out for months after I got sick. It started to grow back in, but was growing in thin and the color was changing to some hair darker and some grey leaving a flat kind of look. My hair had lost its vibrancy and nothing I was trying was restoring it. I decided after some research to try henna. After reading reviews I went with Rainbow and used the blonde hoping to restore some highlights to the grey areas. I brewed a raspberry leaf tea, added 2 tbsp. Apple cider vinegar, 1 tblsp. Olive oil, and essential oils of lavender and tea tree oil. I slowly added the henna into 16 oz. hot tea stirring as I did it until it made a thick paste. I used an immersion blender to get it really smoothe. I then washed my hair and towel dried it to damp, but not dripping and applied the paste. Once my hair was saturated I wrapped it with plastic wrap and a hair towel wrap. I left it on for three hours then washed it out. I used Rainbows shampoo and conditioner which I am now in love with. The first two pictures were the before and the thinning area was visible on top of my head. The last two are the after pictures. My hair feels almost back to normal again. Thicker and soft. I also love the nice fragance of the henna and lavender left behind. I didn't need 16oz. Of tea as I only used about 8oz. and now that I know I love this so much I may play with different colors too.

Pros and Cons
My hair is medium brown with very subtle strawberry blonde highlights. I wanted something to brighten my hair and enhance my blonde highlights. Oh, and also cover the 12 or so grays. I used the Light Brown previously and although it covered my few grays really well and made my few artificial highlights more golden (all of which I liked), it seemed to darken the rest of my hair. That's why I tried Persian Blonde. I barely notice any change at all and it doesn't cover the grays as well as the brown, although it covers them somewhat. I thought I might try it again with chamomille tea, as the instructions suggested and, if that's not enough, then the next time I will add lemon juice, also as the instructions suggest for brightening. It may have made my hair look a little ash blondish, but it's so barely noticeable, I'm not sure if I am imagining it.

Great if you have the right expectations
This is a review for the 'Persian Blonde' henna. My natural hair color is medium blonde. I have been dying my hair platinum blonde for many years and fried it into oblivion, so I was looking for a natural way to color and condition my hair while I am growing out the bleach blonde ends. I thought parts of my hair that were fried with bleach were beyond repair - boy, was I wrong. Henna made my hair come back to life. It looks thick, shiny, and simply fantastic. Here are answers to some of the questions you are likely asking yourself:1. Will it dye my hair? Not really. It gives hair shine and a bit of a sun-kissed hue, but do not expect a dramatic difference. If your hair is any color but light blonde, you will see no difference in color.2. Is it easy to dye hair with henna?Yes and no. Mixing henna and putting it on your head is very easy, but the process of putting on henna and washing it off is VERY messy. It has the consistency and color of mud. Plus I recommend you leave it on your head for no less than 2 hours, so from beginning to end plan for 3 hours for the whole activity.3. How do I mix it and what do I wash it with?OK, after a lot of experimenting I came up with the following formula: take henna, 1 teaspoon of argan oil, and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix with warm chamomile or ginger tea until the mixture is the consistency of thick yogurt. Let stand for 30 minutes minimum, apply to head. Also, use argan oil to get henna out of your head once you want to wash it off. It won't get out of your hair without a fight. Olive oil will do the trick as well.Hope this helps!

Great product, easy, good results
Excellent product, simply Henna, no other fillers that are unnecessary. Great Results. Of the 3 items suggested by manufacturer to add, Egg Yolk, Olive Oil of Yogurt, I got the best results using Yogurt (plain). When I used egg yolk the color came out reddish. I haven't tried olive oil as my hair is oily by nature. Definitely recommend using Yogurt.**RECOMMEND
