Awesome Saddle Comfort and Price
I’ve been looking for a new saddle because my current saddle is beat up from some abuse this riding season. As any avid cyclist will tell you a saddle makes all the difference when riding, and it does. I looked at four brands and ten different models and eventually it came down to four saddles from two brands. I ordered a few saddles from Amazon and tried some from the local bike shop. This is my first saddle from Ergon. I’ve pretty much used the same well-known brand of saddle for years. However, I have some friends that have Ergon saddles and they love their saddle, so I figured I would give this brand a try and I am glad I did. FEEL WHILE RIDING I always choose a saddle based on fit (sit bone measurement), preference, and riding style. For me, this saddle great. It’s on the firmer side (which I prefer) but is adequately padded. The gel padding for the sit bones is perfect. It’s not overly squishy, but supports my sit bones. The channel provides plenty room to relieve pressure on the that sensitive part of the body but does not feel awkward when changing riding positions. QUALITY This is really good saddle, but not the equivalent of the saddle I am replacing. What I am referring to is the quality of manufacturing. My original saddle is hand-made, the cut of leather is perfect and the same goes for the stitching. However, keep in mind I am comparing a saddle that cost twice as much to this saddle that cost $90. Basically, comparing aluminum wheels vs. Carbon Fiber wheels, okay maybe not that extreme, but you get the idea. Don’t get me wrong, this is an awesome saddle and I admit, I wish I could get the money back that I spent on expensive saddles I purchased in the past. CONCLUSION I can’t believe I bought a saddle in this price range that fits as good as it does and rides just at nice if not better than the saddle I am replacing that costs twice as much. Do your research, measure your sit bones or get professionally fitted and keep this brand in mind; I am certain you will not regret it. Read on to learn how fit yourself for a saddle. HOW TO FIT A SADDLE? As a starting point, the important thing is getting a saddle that is correct for your anatomy, meaning one that fits your sit bones. This is important because the sit bones are the points at the bottom of your pelvis that supports your body weight while riding. There are a couple options to determine what saddle size is best for your body anatomy. Option 1. You can get professionally measured. Generally, you pay a fee to get measured, and the fitting fee usually goes toward the price of the saddle where you are fitted. Figure you will pay around $50 to $75 for a saddle fitting. Option 2. is doing it yourself. All you need is a piece of cardboard that about 15” x 20” (basically enough for you to sit on), a pen, and a tape measure. Keep in mind that you can be sized for a saddle and have try 15 different saddles all for your size and only feel comfortable on one of two of them. Remember, it is based on fit (measurement), preference, and riding style. HERE HOW TO MEASURE YOUR SIT BONES WITH CARDBOARD? There are plenty of YouTube videos on this method if you need more help. 1. Take a piece of cardboard with no dents or bends and place it on a flat surface like an end table or coffee table. Next, you need something like foot rest. 2. Wear some thin clothing and sit on the cardboard and put your feet on the foot rest. What you trying to do simulate is a riding position. It doesn’t have to be exact. Next, put your hands under the table ledge and pull yourself down onto the cardboard. What this does is puts pressure on the cardboard and makes two indentations of your sit bones. 3. Use your pen to mark a dot the middle of each sit bone indentation on the cardboard and measure the distance between the two dots. When I did this, I measured 5” (inches) of distance between my sit bones. 4. Now you have a little simple math. You need to convert your measurement from inches to millimeters. You have to do this because most saddles (as well as most cycling parts) are sold using the metric system. The calculation to convert inches to millimeters is as follows: In my case my site bone distance is 5”. The calculation you need to perform is: 5” x 25.4 = 127 mm. At this point you need to do one more calculation. You need to add another 25 mm to 30 mm to your sit bone measurement to determine the saddle size. Here are my calculations: Sit bone width 127 mm (this was taken from the cardboard) Sit bone 127 mm + 25 mm = 152 mm Size One Sit bone 127 mm + 30 mm = 157 mm Size Two SO WHY ARE THERE TWO DIFFERENT CALCULATIONS FOR SIZE? This provides a good starting point. Using these numbers helped me determine the size range to try. As I mentioned, it’s not just about size, but preference. They only way to tell is to try multiple saddles. When you pay to have a saddle fitting, the company you go to has dozens of saddle choices. They are doing the same thing; measure and try saddles. The key is finding a saddle to fit (measurement), preference, and riding style. When you are doing this yourself, you still need to try a multitude of saddles to ensure you get one that fit’s (measurement) correctly, is your preference, and works with your riding style. Whether getting professionally fitted or doing it yourself, you are going to try multiple saddles and keep the one that works. WHAT’S THE TAKEAWAY FROM SADDLE FITTING? On average, men’s sit bone width ranges between 100 mm – 140 mm, and women’s range between 110 mm – 150 mm. Looking at the two ranges, there is an overlap of 30 mm between men and women’s average sit bone spacing. Please take this into consideration when ordering a saddle. There is a lot of debate on topic of Men’s vs. Women’s” saddles. As I pointed out, the numbers really dismiss the notion that saddles are gender specific. Sure, there are difference, but the numbers do not lie. As I keep stating, it comes down to fit (measurement), preference, and riding style. When you find that one saddle that fit (measurement) and is your preference, and style of riding, buy a couple of them, you will be a happy cyclist for years to come ****** Please let me know if this review was helpful by clicking the “Helpful” button below***** THANK YOU!

Incredibly it disappears under my bum
As an Asian woman in my 40s I've searched high and low for a saddle that fits me. The discontinued Specialized Myth was the only other saddle besides a Brooks that worked for my behind but after Specialized stopped making it I couldn't find any used ones and the new ones on eBay are all knockoffs. After getting a Liv bike recently I was hoping the this Taiwanese bike company had a saddle would fit me but no, it still gave me pain. I'm so happy I read a review about the Ergon saddle. After an initial few minutes of getting used to the feel, the saddle just suddenly disappeared under me. I forgot I was sitting on a saddle and this was without a chamois! That is the mark of a great bike saddle! Hope the Ergon continues to disappear under me on the 50 mile rides!

Comfortable saddle, avoids hot spots
Can’t say how this compares to other saddles from this brand, but it is much, much better than the saddle my bike cam with. This saddle has some cushion so it’s fine to ride for short errands and such without a chamois, but it is pretty flat and firm, which seems in reality to be more comfortable than a plush saddle. It’s also got a cutout, which again, makes a real difference. It’s also wider than the saddle my bike came with, which makes a difference too-having your sit bones hang off the saddle sucks-and you get to use every bit of that saddle width with the flat form factor! ( a lot of saddles are so convex they are in reality a lot narrower than they look) This saddle was fairly expensive, but no regrets.

Best saddle for gravel cycling
I've tried just about every saddle there is ... this is the best. For those that need convincing, read on. I'm a retired competitive cyclist who now only does gravel events (60-100+ miles). Let's just say a regular road saddle doesn't quite cut it, ok? It has just the right amount of padding without adding too much weight. If you are female (like me), chances are you will also like this saddle. It's wide enough to support your sit bones. Ladies, if you've had more than 2 kids and you are over 5'-6" - measure and maybe size up to the M/L. Guys, this saddle has a relief area that will help you participate in the whole kid-making thing. This saddle is wallet and butt-friendly. Buy it. Your rump will thank you.

Nice New Seat
This is a great new seat for my bike. I have one on my mountain bike and one on my gravel bike. They are pretty comfortable and for the price I'm pretty happy with my purchase.

Comfortable
I have tried several different saddles over the last few months at about this price range, with and without a chamois. This one has been the best and I did not need a chamois for a 30 mile ride. The flatter seat is comfortable for me for the sit bones, the shape does not dig into the upper thighs, and I appreciate the generous cutout.

FINALLY!
I can’t believe I’ve been riding on an ill-fitted saddle for TWENTY SEVEN years! I’ve always had issues with my lady bits and nerve compression when riding, but I thought it was just par for the course. I finally measured my sit bones, which are more widespread than I imagined in proportion to my narrow body frame. What an incredible difference this has made in my life. When you ride 4x a week for years, this is not an exaggeration! I simultaneously bought the road version for my road bike that’s permanently on my Wahoo Kickr. Cannot say enough about these saddles. I rode my singlespeed yesterday (which still had an old ill-fitted saddle on it) and experienced pain and discomfort every time I sat down. Just ordered my third Ergon saddle for it!

F-ing finally a good bike seat for broads.
Finally! I found a seat that works for women. I’ve been cycling forever and just dealt with the pain and bought super thick bike shorts and tri suits. I’ve had this seat for two months now and I haven’t even thought about bike pants. Amazing
