Inventor Lab: Awesome Builds for Smart Makers (DK Activity Lab)

This is a birthday gift for my Grandson that has not yet been given. I am impressed by the scope of interesting information & activities that can be made up. I thought the layout of photographs & appearance of the book were stimulating & likely to lead to an interested child's further study & activity in the future.

We are delighted with the book, it was very hard to leave this until Christmas day. Dr Lucy Rogers has produced a beautiful book which will help me enable our Little Inventor to make many projects and to also understand how/why the makes work & relate them to their use in the real world too. Looking at the book fills me with confidence to move on from our basic projects with pre-made kits and give them all a try in our S.T.E.A.M. lessons at Home. Interactive, Interesting & a go-to for Years to come. This isn't a book made to go on the shelf, it's one we'll use everyday!. It's like a Haynes Manual for S.T.E.A.M. Well done.

I brought this book for my child as she was enjoying the topic at school. I was very surprised that she really was enjoying making the things out of the book and she was involving all the family. So it a win in our house. The book states how East or Hard it is going to be to compleat. We have to order a lot of the parts which is a little costly but worth it. I get her to work for the extra parts lol.

bought for a 5 year old. it does involved buying a lot of equipment but they were up for it and really interesting and challenging tasks.

Although the first picture was not promising, it is an amazing book. Full descriptions with nice ideas. Wish there are more like this.

Bought for my six year old, cracking good book. Some nice easy projects that he was able to do with minimal help and some more challenging ones that will keep him interested for a few years.

I bought this for my son for Xmas he’s 14 , when I purchased the book there was no where to say what materials I needed to buy along side the book , I was recommended a box to go with the book which I bought assuming that would be everything I needed ! How wrong was I ? It’s not you can actually make anything with the items in the box you need to buy more , been a woman 😂 I’m not very technical or into diy etc so I found this hardwork , I would of thought that most of the projects used a lot of the same materials which it doesnt , it works out pretty expensive if you don’t have a lot of the items you need and tools ! Also to say the book is for children it doesn’t really explain some of the materials you need in detail so when I searched what the book said for example “red wire” when I searched it up in Amazon it was crazy I felt totally out of my depth which wire I needed ! Overall I wouldn’t of bought this book if I had knew x

Wish I had one like this as a kid. Brought it as a gift but kid loved it so much that we kept it. Clear and simple instructions. A definite buy.
