This fourth edition builds on the success of previous editions and for the first time is produced in full colour throughout with improved photos and diagrams. It retains its popular pocket size and is an essential buy for all students working in the field. The text shows how sedimentary rocks are tackled in the field and has been written for all those with a geological background. It describes how the features of sedimentary rocks can be recorded in the field particularly through the construction of graphic logs. had to have it for my field work
I ran across this little & thin book of much information when I searched the web for "green minerals". I had found them in my unconsolidated soils and after checking my mineralogy text book wanted to do some cross-comparing. An excerpt came up and I read it, and then I knew that I had to have the whole thing. Its a good guide book.

Must have for students.
This book is the perfect guide for field work when partaking in the study of rocks that are sedimentary. Chris Tucker is a great author and he defiantly knows a lot about sedimentary Chris Rock.

Specific information for professionals
Together with its companions, the field guides about metamorphic rocks and Igneous rocks, the three team up to a splendid resource on rocks of around 700 pages. Why not in one book?
