whats the actual difference between the sjo 33309 and sjo 66690k ?

It looks like you would be paying @ $27 for a set of thin pads that stick to the inside faces of the vice jaws. I have the 33309 with no pads. ($260) You can go to a big box craft store for a sheet of of closed cell foam for a few dollars. A 12x 18 inch piece is about $1.50 for 3mm or 5mm. One piece can be cut in half. I tie fly fishing flies and we buy this foam all of the time. If there is a special piece that you do not want to get marked, then slip a piece of the foam between the jaws and work piece. The Workbench is great by the way, first class.
