My only reel go to grease.
If you work on as many reels as I do, it's a good thing to have 1 lb tubs of this on hand. I have, at any time, around 100 reels, and I am constantly refurbishing old reels, repairing and refurbishing friends' reels, and always buying new reels. Penn reel grease may not be the choice of every angler, especially those who are brand snobs, and will pay extra for another brand without inconclusive evidence, but so far, Penn reel grease has served me well without any issues. I even use it on my bicycles, skates, and skateboards, even though it's not exactly designed for it. I don't know why anyone would pay $10-$20 for an ounce of reel grease either. It seems to be shelf stable for long periods of time. I don't imagine it would be good to leave it out in the elements with extreme temperatures and extreme environments for years on end, but I've let a tub sit for over a year in my fishing gear tool kit, just to see if it would separate. Looks and works like the day I bought it. For this price, this is one of the best deals of reel grease on the market. I use it on my Penns, Pfluegers, Shimanos, Daiwas, Lews, Abus, Abu Garcias, Ducketts, Shakespeares, Zebcos, Quantums, B&Ms, KastKing, and various other reel brands from reels from the 1940s to brand new reels. Not one problem or failure. Even my oldest reel in use, a 1950s Penn 350 Levelline spins like a top better than many new, out of the box reels with the wrong viscosity grease. The only downside is not really a downside to me. It is not clear grease. It is green and will stain clothes, so don't wear a tuxedo while you're greasing your reels. I know it may be a good idea to wear surgical gloves while applying grease, but I never do, and there is no toxicity. I put mine into a wood glue applicator to get grease into very tight spaces that can not be disassembled further with great success. While many use a little tool brush, which I sometimes use, if I am not using the applicator, I just use my finger tips. If used properly, it keeps moisture and solid particles out and prevents rust and corrosion. Penn hit one out of the park with this grease in this easy use tub size. I may get flack from many fishing snobs who swear by Cal's deag grease, but I would rather use this sparingly on many of my drag discs. I have never had a drag system failure from using this, and it holds well enough without humming up the works.

Penn grease 1 lb. tub
I don't think you can go wrong with Penn grease. It was a good price also, considering how much a 1 -2 ounce tub of this grease costs. If you work on reels much it's a must have. This is my first 1 lb. tub of grease should last for years if probably used. A little bit not a lot because it will just spin off in your reel. A little goes along way.

Awesome
Great grease and oil. After a couple of back to back fishing trips it is always good to take care of your reels and oil them properly. Follow instructions on how to oil your reel, print out reel parts manual if you do not have one, a little bit of grease and oil goes a long way. Make sure you are applying grease to the right reel components and oil to the right components. Not everything on your reel gets grease and not everything gets oil. You can end up doing more harm then good if you do not know what you are doing. There are a plethora of instructional videos on you-tube that can assist you.

I got 4# for about $30
A must have for modern plastic body reels. Regular automotive grease will destroy your plastic body reels. My 2 oz jar had just run out so I thought to myself "I'll buy this 1# jar so I never run out. $30 for 1# is way cheaper than buying 8 jars at 2 oz. Imagine my surprise when I received four 1# jars. Killer deal.
