We bought this for our 2 1/2 year old. She loves it. We are all Eric Carle fans. The colorful paintings of mother animals and their babies are endearing. This teaches love for a mother. It's a lovely book to read before bedtime. I will buy this book as gifts to give to friends.

This is such a wonderful book for preschoolers that are learning word recognition. The repetitiveness that received several complaints from reviewers is very beneficial in allowing emerging readers to practice their sight words, and the verse is just charming. Learning baby animal names is an added benefit, and the illustrations are the usual Carle-wonderful. This is the third purchase I have completed of this book (one for my daughter and the other two as gifts), and I will continue to recommend and gift this book in the future.

All of our kids have loved Eric Carle books! I purchased this book (along with 4 other Eric Carle board books) to give as a shower gift. This was our friends first baby and they had so many baby items up until a year so I had the idea of giving these to use as the baby gets older. I think these are a must for kids- the story lines and art are amazing! Fast shipping!

This is one of my daughter's favorite books, and at 2 years old, she has been able to memorize the repetitive pattern (which is exactly what we teach in the earliest stages of reading readiness). We're giving the board book a try, because we've already read through the soft cover and hardback (the pages in the middle fell out)... Happy reading!

Anything by Eric Carle is wonderful and all children show know his books!

Lo devolví, muy aburrido, nos encantan los libros de Eric Carle pero este es todo el rato igual, no lo recomendaría.
