If you have some sewing knowledge and want to improve this book is for you.

This is a great book if you are somewhat experienced with pattern drafting and need a reference for how to scale and draft different style elements onto a sloper. If you find yourself often buying patterns just to use one or two specific style features, try this book series instead. You could also draft patterns for entire garments just using this book and your measurements, which it shows you how to take (though in less detail than really necessary for a beginner). I will definitely be getting the other books in the series.

This series is the best that I have. It is not simplistic and requires some basic insight into garment construction, but it has hundreds of pattern templates that can be used to create custom garments. This group of three books are the best value.

I am a self made designer. I wanted to extend my knowledge so I purchased this book. My god, it is amazing. Love going through and learning all new techniques!

I purchased this book because it's in the title that there are patterns for both men and women. The first 200 pages are patterns for the typical female pattern block (e.g. with darted bodice), and only the last 40 or so pages cover a male block with very basic patterns. The male section felt lacking when it came to discussions of fitting, size variation, and frankly creativity compared to the comprehensive section on women's fashion.If you're looking for a drafting book using metric units and focusing on feminine fashion for stereotypical female bodies, this book seemed like it would be very good. I returned the book though because the masculine fashions (for any shaped body) were quite limited.

I bought all 3 in the series. They're well written and very instructive.
