Double Wall 450 Cup One Size

I have had this cup for over two years and completely love it. I use it every day for coffee and also for water. I am not a hiker and I do not camp. I bought it for other reasons, mainly, because of the unique properties of the metal itself. Before I go into that, I challenge anyone who has one to blind taste test water from a titanium cup or titanium water bottle vs. any other container, especially plastic. I have done this with very skeptical friends and family and none of them believe me when I tell them how much better the water tastes. A very noticeable difference. But why? To understand this you need to understand the unique properties of the metal. Unique properties that some, if not most people, are unaware. • Extreme corrosion resistance: When I say extreme, I mean EXTREME! Titanium is noted for it’s strength and lightweight, but did you know it is one of the few metals that has about as much corrosion resistance as gold or even platinum? So extreme, it is impervious to rust in salt water, and because of this it is used in a lot of marine applications. Take this cup to the ocean and let it sit in the salt water for 100 or a 1,000 years, no rust. So extremely corrosion resistant, it is used to store nuclear waste in titanium containers, designed to last over 100,000 years. It is one if the few metals that is impervious to “aqua regia”, an acid compound so concentrated, it can dissolve gold and platinum, but NOT titanium. Incredible! • Biocompatabilty Basically, titanium is non-toxic to the human body. It will not hurt you if it enters the body and it is completely inert to the body. You would think with its high corrosion resistance, titanium would be a toxic metal, but incredibly it is not. Most metals with this level of corrosion resistance are toxic to humans if they enter the human body, but not titanium. Most people think that titanium is used for medical implants due to its strength, but that’s NOT the main reason. It is because it is non-toxic and is not rejected by the body. Because of this (and corrosion resistance), titanium has many medical uses, including surgical implements and implants, such as hip balls and sockets that can stay in place for up to 20 years. It’s also non magnetic, which means that someone with a titanium implant can get an MRI. The same can’t be said for steel or even “stainless” steel. Steel is an alloy and contains some metals that are harmful to the human body. A steel medical implant will eventually corrode inside your body, but NOT titanium, even “stainless” steel will rust, it’s just basically resistant to rust. I am not saying that drinking from a steel cup is harmful, it’s not. I am just pointing out the properties of titanium. • Highest strength to weight ratio of ANY metal! Simply put, titanium is about as strong as most steel but about half the weight. Most people think of titanium as being a very strong metal, but that is not what makes it unique. titanium is strong AND very light. The main reason it is used on aircraft, mainly in landing gears. Landing gear on aircraft need to be very strong for obvious reasons, and if titanium is used, there is a significant weight reduction. Racecars use it too for the same reasons. The main reason I bought the cup was for the purity of titanium itself. The cup itself is great and the only complaint I have is that I have used it so much that the paint marking on the cup are gone. The double wall construction is a must with any titanium cup because of the properties of the metal. Titanium does not retain heat well because of low density, and a non-insulated titanium cup will loose heat, or cold for that matter, very quickly. A steel container has a distinct advantage when it comes to insulation, and retaining heat or cold. Titanium is average when it comes to hardness, and for that reason, it is not too scratch resistant. It’s not a soft metal like gold, but most steels will be more scratch resistant. Titanium is also very expensive to produce and mill. About 10 times more expensive than most steels, and for these reasons, it is not used as much for most metal applications. Oh, and It’s difficult to weld too. For my requirements, this cup is outstanding. However, I admit I am not the typical customer for this cup. I bought it for the “coolness” and the purity of drinking from a cup made from an exotic metal, with incredible properties.

My husband already owned one of these coffee cups and is so appreciative of the insulating quality that he brings it with him backpacking, in the RV and uses it daily at home. I purchased this second one so that we have one permanently in the RV and our kitchen cabinet at home. He is certain that the double wall insulation keeps his coffee hot for longer than any of the assorted coffee cups we own. The price is high, but he believes his Snow Peak cup is worth every penny.

Purchased for a birthday gift and it was very well received. I have a green double wall snow peak 450. While I still love mine, I prefer the silver and this one even has a cute snow flake between handles :) I also got the silicone lid that only comes in the 450 size, which is the perfect size. I like this cup. It is VERY light weight and very packable with folding handles. It does keep your coffee hot longer than your average ceramic mug. I am not as in love with it as some reviewers, but I am still glad I purchased. So far so good!

This mug fits in my Snowpeak mini solo ( the old version) then the mini solo fits in the Snowpeak trek 900 and the 900 fits in the trek 1400 great set , it a set of 6 because the trek 900 and trek 1400 has lids that are also fry pans , all high quality with the most durable hardware attaching the handle to the mug and pots . Way better than toaks MSR evernew ect tried many of the other brands . Snowpeak is the best .

Phenomenal cups! Lightweight, durable and compact. My only complaint is packaging and the lack of protective pouches. I ordered four cups for my family. None of them came with a pouch. For the price I paid, I think these cups should come with something to protect them. Other then that they are perfect

Bought this mug on Amazon and used for months with mixed feelings. Bought a second mug at a brick & mortar outdoor retailer. Supposedly, these are the same product, right? But, comparing the two mugs side-by-side leaves me really disappointed in the mug purchased on Amazon. The dimensions and feel are not the same and the quality seems oddly different too. Not the same in my opinion. Can’t return.

The cups are light but I was expecting the hot coffee to remain hot for at least an hour for the price stainless double wall would be a better choice if your not worried about weight. The caps I had to buy separate, have a loos fit and are cheap looking coffee stays hot longer with the caps!

熱湯を入れた後すぐに側を持ったとしても熱く無いのでおすすめです！材質もチタンで軽いし使い勝手は良いです！ 気になった所は、使用する時に持ち手がズレたりしてしまうのと、多少振動の出る様な所では、持ち手がビビる音がする位です！

Duur, maar was verbaasd over het gewicht, gelijk geprobeerd met een kop koffie, 90 graden koffie en ik kon de beker goed vasthouden. Goot voordeel als wijnbeker, hij lijkt niet zo vol door het formaat dus je krijgt net iets meer. Deze gaat overal mee naar toe, let op schuurspons is niet nog en maakt wel krassen. Overigens ben ik voor dit geld wel ontevreden dat de siliconen deksel er niet bij zit.

Toller Becher, den ich auf einer dreiwöchigen Fahrradtour oft gebraucht habe. Dank der zweifachen Wandung verbrennt man sich bei Heißgetränken nicht die Finger. Superleicht ! Gut der Preis ist nicht ohne, aber bei Meissen kostet ein weißer Kaffeebecher auch über 50 Euro. Kein Problem mit dem Zoll, schneller Versand.

This is my second one. Love this mug for camping and outdoors. Super light weight and tough. You need the lid however to keep the heat in. Mug doesn’t get too hot. Just don’t put it on the fire!!
