Yes, this will work as a sporran. Just cut apart the included shoulder strap, save the webbing, trigger snaps, and buckles - then make yourself two belt keepers. Took about 10 minutes. You will save money, and reading the reviews of the 'other' sporran - I believe you will be happier with this for the money.The bag is 100% genuine leather (other than the strap/buckles/zippers, naturally). It has a good leather smell to it. I got the pebble grain variant because the leather looked to be the thickest. Zippers are solid, and snap on the little front flap is magnetic. Leather is thick, yet soft. Main compartment is large enough to hold your favorite 'airsoft' compact or subcompact - if you get my meaning.It has It did not disappointed me at all. I'd be surprised if this bag did not last for a good, long time.

This product is made of good quality material. My only issue was it was a little too big for my waist even after tightening it to the lowest level. The bag sits right above my hip bone area at a measurement of 34.5". Also, the bag itself is heavy so adding more to the bag increased the weight of it. Nice quality bag, but it was too bulky for me. Product was returned.

Great for hands off use.. use with motorcycle.. if you are prissy and worried about scratches that give the satchel character, then this bag is not for you... However, I like the rustic look and plan to adapt bag for steampunk use.. Good bag for girl or boy!!

great product very durable i am able to fit a checkbook inside with no problem the front pocket with the flap was somewhat bothersome so i tucked the flap inside the very front zipper pocket fits 2 RFID wallets .I am very pleased with the quality and size of the product.

It came today. It is rather bulky and clunky. It is big enough for cellphones and lots of junk. But, It's rather bulky and clunky. Itll be good to carry around.

Its a decently sturdy bag, a bit smaller than I was expecting. I docked three stars because I didn't receive the strap! Thats kinda important because I wanted to use it as a small side bag when I went out doing photography. So thats a shame. Rigged up something myself, but I shouldn't have to. Oh well..
