I've had a sombrero for years, the spirit burner type, and decided to upgrade to the electrical one. So glad I have, the ease of use, control and safety is way better. I particular love the raclette addition to the sombrero. Filling the gully with thai soup broth, and then cooking sliced courgettes, mushrooms, peppers and steak/prawns for the non vegetarians on the hat, with dipping pre-cooked noodles into the broth was a delight. We added shop bought dips for dipping cooked items into, totally delicious. The whole thing was so easy to clean afterwards, despite a long fun filled evening full of cooking. We experimented with bits on the raclette, lots of fun producing different tastes. Love this item, highly recommend. On a more technical side, its solid, beautifully made and I cannot fault the design of it Just a fabulous addition to not only social occasions, but for fun evenings for two.

I have seen this kind of cooking appliance in Cyprus some 25 years ago, only it was powered with charcole and didn't have the little trays underneath. We enjoyed it so much then and I have tried to find one ever since without any luck. It needs a bit of practice, so best to experiment a bit first before inviting guests. I also bought a few pairs of small tongs so that everyone can have their own for raw and cooked meat in case someones a bit iffy about it. Steak and pork work well, Lamb is a bit tough and I haven't tried to do Prawns yet. Loads of laughs around the table.

For £ 14 an absolute no brainer. Great look, super easy to use and assemble and it works really well. Have a mini Raclette party in minutes. Grills meat efficiently and if you fill water in the brim of the sombrero you can even have a bouillon with your grill. Only criticism is the power cord which is way too short. Four stars as I have no idea yet how long the unit will last.

Food is great BUT trying to clean it is a nightmare mine is nothing like non stick.

Before using it I was intrigued by the look of it and wasn’t sure to buy it. Once I bought it I feel like it’s my best kitchen appliance. It’s a good buy and worth every penny!!!! I highly recommend everyone to try it out.

It's great for parties as it can cook a good quantity of meat. Hassle free and does not make a mess. It's a lovely product

Hi guys we all loved it but it’s quite hard to clean those spikes are sharp - but don’t let that put you off I just soaked mine and that made it a lot easier to clean but it doesn’t stop you getting pricked on those naughty wee spikes but defo good fun
