you get what u pay for
Don't have high expectations at this price. The pics make it look much better that what you get when you receive it. It's plastic. I gave it 2 stars b/c of its price and it works and has kept good time , but the best thing I can say about this watch is the strap, which i removed and put it on another watch. So yes you could consider it a way to get a cheap strap and you could bin the watch. I'd recommend that spend a bit more money and put it towards a SKMEI or a SMAEL for <$10 ...or even a decent Casio quartz for <$20
