Is any of the fat used in this product hydrogenated? I need to avoid transfats...

The ingredients of Suma Vegetaian Suet are:- Non-hydrogenated palm oil (ethically and ecologically sourced),sunflower seed oil and rice flour. CAUTION... Packed in an environment that handles nuts,peanuts,sesame,gluten ,soya milk and sulphured fruits. Suma is the trading name of the Triangle Wholefood Collective and was founded in 1977 so they can be trusted not to greenwash their customers. They are Fairtrade,organic,ethical and ecological and only stock natural products.

what is the expiary date

There is a best before date which is 9 months away from when purchased.

How much of this would you use with gluten free flour to make dumplings? I’ve never made them before and the back of the pack says half and half?

I followed the ratio from de Atora dumplings ( for 50g of suet 100g of self raising GF flour). I also make the mixture thinner than for normal dumplings . But I guess is trial and error.

Where there is no viable alternative, we only use palm oil that has been RSPO certified. Within these 29, there are 65 size variations where some lines are packaged in different sizes but have the same recipe of ingredients.
