Great!
These screws work so fast and are so much easier than the bolting alternative.

Easy to install and holds strong.
Very easy to install. Great alternative to 1/2" lag bolts + easy removal. Refurbished a large multi level deck where 1/2" lag blots were used. They were nearly impossible to remove because you must loosen the nut almost all the way off then use brass hammer to pound the lag back out enough to use vise grips a screw it out. With Thrulok you just put impact driver on it and take it out as easily as you installed it. Even galvanized bolts corrode. Will these still have the same sheer strength as 1/2" lag bolts 5 or 10 years down the road remains to be seen. The 1/2" lags I removed were rusted inside the wood but not compromised. Hoping Thruloks use a more durable galvanize treatment as they are much smaller in diameter.

Excellent for my application.
Much easier to attach deck post. For my application it was a tight squeeze to get the posts attached and this made it easy. I had to use a 90-degree drill attachment, but I couldn't imagine drilling a hole, while keeping it straight then hammering a carriage bolt through. My only complaint is that the nuts are hideous, but for me they are not visible and I am guessing for most people it is a non-issue.

These are everything they're advertised as being. They save ...
These are everything they're advertised as being. They save an enormous amount of time versus drilling and inserting carriage bolts -- especially on large projects with many connections. Installation is a snap: temporarily secure your members together using a few deck screws or something similar, use a fairly hefty drill to drive the bolt most of the way through, hand-tighten the cap on the other side, and finish by driving the bolt tight. Do be aware that, to meet code, you will generally need three of these bolts per joint to replace two 1/2" carriage bolts, so cost may be slightly higher overall versus carriage bolts. Even so, the amount of labor saved well outweighs the negligible increase in cost.

Expensive but saves time... time is money. Evens out
Used this item for deck this is pretty much the standard worth the money but I still wish they where a little cheaper.

Easy peezy
I used the 7” version to attach double 2x10” beams to notched 6x6 posts.Skip the drilling needed for lag bolts. Just screw and cap and you are done.Cost wise they seem expensive on the surface but add the hot dipped bolt/ washer/ nut together and you’re more than halfway there.Do keep in mind manufacturer quotes meeting code by using more bolts. Example three Thruloks to replace two 1/2 bolts.

Simply awesome!
Everyone else was in awe when I drove these right through our railing posts. They were obviously skeptical at first with comments like "you paid to much for a gimmick" and "carriage bolts are standard, you can't go wrong with them." Watching the first screw bolt was incredible, but testing the post made believers out of everyone. It is such a simple process for securely attaching railing posts. I'm so glad I found these before starting the project!

Got the delivery as expected.
It’s a ingenious fastener. Expensive…. Yup. That’s easily recouped but the speed of installation and the dead nuts strength of the connection.Used for years, never a call back on loose rail post.
