Awesome piece of technology for reasonable price!
My girlfriend actually purchased this for her own use; before then she used her family's computer which was outdated and had unbearable loading times. Her price range was $200 to $350. She was looking for a laptop/netbook that was good quality & brand, was mainly capable of storing music & pictures, used WiFi to browse the Internet wirelessly, and had a built in camera/microphone to take photos & be used for Skype. I did most of the comparing for her on the technical and economical sense. With everything in mind I found this little netbook. It was between this and a Toshiba netbook that was slightly cheaper. Both were basically the same and would accommodate what she was looking for. It really came down to (for her) the look and brand. At first we were going to buy this at Target which was asking about $30 more so I did a little browsing and found it here on Amazon. She was also reluctant to find out that it was in the color blue. Unboxing & set up was effortless and quick! The netbook (being from HP) offered a program/OS that you could boot into that had a portable-esque sort of feel to it with a built in browser and etc. She just wanted the netbook to function like any other PC and set it to boot into Windows 7. She has had her netbook for 3 weeks now with her countless amounts of music and pictures transferred over and WiFi set up. No major complaints and it's running very well. The only thing that was unexpected was that she couldn't change the desktop image from the default. With a little research we found out that the netbook (being loaded with Windows 7 Starter) wasn't given the option to change the desktop image for some silly unexplained reason. With more research we found a third party software to work around this issue. Small issue number 2 was the battery life. With extensive use of course there will be noticeable battery drainage. Charging it over night allows her to use it for around 6 hours over the length of 2 days before the charge goes below 50%. That's not too bad at all! She tends to charge it over night every 2 days. Some things to point out physically: Includes built in camera/microphone and WiFi capabilities, does not have a CD drive no big deal after all it is a netbook and can be solved by buying a separate USB CD drive, convenient volume +/- and brightness +/- buttons where "F 1,2,3, etc." buttons are, touch pad on/off press and hold button located at the top left corner of the touch pad in case you decide to use a wireless mouse, the touch pad also clicks when you press down on it anywhere, no numeric pad or page up/down home/end buttons but since browsing with this netbook is condensed it is just as easy to use the up/down arrows, the keyboard may be 7% smaller than a full size keyboard but typing with it feels unnoticeable, stylish silver look & vivid color casing on back of monitor and bottom of machine, three USB ports minimal but I can't imagine all of them being used at the same time especially for it being a netbook at the most one would be used for a mouse and another for a USB drive leaving one extra. For even more technical insight Amazon doesn't provide I suggest going to HP's site and look up HP Mini 210 they also have a very nice video of the product. (

HP Mini 210
Great product. I am 100% satisfied with it as it suits me perfectly for Internet (wireless works great), Word and Excel (the Starter versions are good enough for most of the work so you do not to purchase the full versions if you do not mind the commercials on the side). I also use Thunderbird as the e-mail client and it works great too. I have installed Zone Alarm Extreme Security, but the computer runs fast considering the hardware. The picture is good, and the battery lasts pretty long. The keyboard is really good. I would like the cursor keys to have the normal layout though as the up and down arrow are half the size of left and right arrows. That is my only con. In general, I fully recommend this netbook and I believe it is priced well for what you get.

Awesome netbook for price!
I have had my netbook for over a month now and I still love it. It was easy to set up the way I wanted it. I have had no problems linking it to other devices, such as my printer, camera, phone, and external cd/dvd-rom. I love the size and that it fits in my purse, so I can take it with me anywhere I go. Battery life is pretty good. Screen size is perfect for word processing and surfing the net, though I wouldn't watch a movie on here. I'm most happy with the size of the keyboard. I have small hands and this keyboard is perfect. The only thing I don't like is that the screen is not anti-glare, so it's hard to see what's on the screen sometimes.

Great!
I love this little netbook! It runs great, easy set-up,was able to download the trial of microsoft 2010 and it runs just fine on it, including adobe reader/flash, java, etc. Skype runs great and good picture resolution, no lagging. Great camera for those who chat with friends and family overseas, etc. I'm not a fan of the mousepad, but I never used the mousepad on a netbook before. I bought a nice mini toshiba mouse for it from hhgreg. The computer received and recognized the mouse immediately and worked just fine. This little portable size is easy to carry around and set up in bookstores and coffee shops where I usually like to do my online schooling. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase, the color is cute, the bottom pictures when looking at the specs are truest to the color. I love it! :-D !! Yay! I also only paid [...] for shipping with the trial of amazon prime. I ordered it on a Thursday night and it arrived early afternoon around 1pm on Saturday. I could have waited for monday with free shipping but I couldnt wait! Just a little extra information if your in a hurry to get one.

NOT worth it.
I was excited when I bought this Netbook, but little did I know that it was going to be a worthless piece of junk! CONS: 1. The keys are spaced apart. 2. The keys STICK, so when you type, you misspell a lot of words. You have to press down really hard to get them to work properly. 3. The outside (red) was a LOT more vivid in the picture's online. In life, it's extremely DULL and FLAT. It takes nothing at all for it to get scratched and I take very well care of my stuff. 4. The mouse pad part of it isn't very touchy, nor does it work right most of the time because it lags. 5. It has Windows 7 Starter Edition. That means you CANNOT have a background of your choice on it and are extremely limited to what you can do. 6. If you want Windows 7, you HAVE to purchase it ONLINE for nearly $200! The netbook itself just costs a little more than what that Edition is worth! 7. You only have Norton on it for 60 days before it EXPIRES. Once it expires, yet again, you HAVE to purchase Northon ONLINE. I believe when I checked how much it cost, it was damn near $170! NOT WORTH IT. 8. There's only 1gb RAM on it, and that's NOT enough, even to download a few apps. 9. The speakers on it are worthless, too, as they sound like a dying moose. 10. There is NOT normal start up. 11. If you have TWO internet pages opened at the same time, it tells you that you're using TOO MUCH MEMORY. 12. It doesn't open easily. You have to almost pry it open with a butter knife. 13. The list goes on and on! PROS: 1. Light-weight. I am VERY dissatisfied with this Netbook. I wish I'd never bought it. I have had more problems with this computer than any other computer that I have EVER used. The designs of it are HORRIBLE. Not only that, but due to an ADOBE update that I didn't grant permission to download, it FRIED the harddrive and now doesn't work at all. Not even a professional friend of mine is able to figure out what the hell is wrong with it!

Simple usage laptop!
I got this net book for my mom, so she doesn't have to go around the house to use the desktop computer. She has been using this netbook for about a year and half now, and I must say its perfect for her because she only uses it for browsing the web (checking emails, Facebook, Twitter). The computer gets a bit slow when we open more than 2 browsing tabs. Its convenient to carry around here and there. The more programs you add to its memory, it will eventually slow down. Pro: Its an ideal little computer for little kids, who don't have alot of usage or old people. Con: No CD rom. Worth purchasing if it fits your needs!

So far, disappointed...READ THE FINE PRINT
We received our new laptop yesterday and immediately set out to start it up. My husband finally got hung up on trying to load Office 10 (which it clearly states in the description/specs that it comes pre-loaded). It kept asking for a product key...which was not included. After spending time on the phone with HP, he found out that in the fine print, it states that yes, Office 10 comes pre-loaded, but you have to pay $150 to get a Product Key! I am so disappointed...I really felt this was the answer to not having to get a full size laptop (based on cost). NOT TRUE. Be prepared.

it is a netbook. it does what it is supposed to do.
Other than some confusion about whether I can put 2mb ram in this (which I still have), it is a good little netbook. Far cheaper than a tablet computer, it has all the ports I could want and a keyboard big enough that I don't make a lot of mistakes on it (unlike the similar Toshiba product). Nice color too. It would be nice if HP kept all of its junkware off something this small (and slow).... the machine really doesn't have it in it to handle extras. But good for web surfing, email, light office work, light flash games, and music. Even streaming video seems to work acceptably.
