Works great, good instructions, lots of control options
I purchased this heater to heat a tent for cold weather camping. We've previously used a buddy heater but were concerned about CO and fire hazard. We don't want to own an RV so needed a safe tent heating solution for family car camping in spring and fall. The diesel heater will be much safer to operate and won't cause condensation from propane combustion in the tent. It was ordered sept 29th and arrived promptly on oct 1st.I've installed the heater and the included fuel pump/filter in a metal case with a 20 Ah deep cycle battery and tested it running on diesel in the yard. Exhaust and conditioned air are routed out the side of the case. The hot air will be ducted into the tent with the unit and fuel tank remaining outside. I've tested it for about 16 consecutive hours and it really cranks out the heat, but also modulates down to a good low running temperature. It runs quietly on low and sounds like a large fan on the higher setting. The muffler is really effective. The heater included pretty good installation and operation instructions which indicate how to prime and run the unit as well as switch between pump volume control and temperature control. The heater really cranks on high and seemed to draw the fuel tank down at about 1"/hr (maybe 1.5 l/hr). On low it consumes appx 1/2 liter/hr. On temperature control, the heater will run on high until the ambient temperature reaches the set temperature, and then it will reduce the fuel pump and fan speed and continue running on low. We measured output air temperature at over 250 degrees F, with ambient air temp of around 65 degrees. I had one instance of the heater overheating on the pump volume setting, but this is likely because it was pretty warm outside during testing and I installed it in a metal case. The unit resets itself once it cooled off and started up again no problem. After running for ~16-20 hrs, it had pretty much drained my 20 Ahr battery. I cycled it down and then tried to fire it back up but got the low voltage error code and measured only 9v from the battery so the unit consumed around 1 amp/hr at 12v over the course of my testing on a variety of settings. The instructions indicate that you can enter the Admin code to adjust the pump settings, but I couldn't figure this out or maybe the code was factory set? Not super clear here. All in all, I am excited about this heater and think it is a great purchase for family car camping, especially if you like to tinker with mechanical stuff. I've been recommending it to all my friends who need to heat their truck camper shells or other sleeping set ups. Thanks for reading,Austin Z

German. Or. Russian. Or. Chinese ? Take your pick throw down $. Watch you tube videos. >......
I am writing this BEFORE it has arrived. Having watched over 100 videos I am ready to tackle this project. I have already drilled all holes and prepared my Sprinter. As all varieties have identical installation dimensions I am just missing the FedEx truck. I have invested in the metal “breadbox”. To install heater inside. That will go under pax seat which I have remounted in the cabin behind bulkhead. The area up front. for pax seat is now area for my 4 dogs to sit (in a crate up on platform looking out windows)....I have suspicions that the actual innards to all the international varieties are all identical all made in China. I am expecting to need to adjust the fan motor so it doesn’t rub on the case. I am perfectly happy with a simple on/off control switch.as I plan to spend winters in warm southern climates and summers in the mountains are never that cold I honestly am asking very little of this $80. I also purchased a catalytic heater. And as backup the 4-dog. Bed heater. Finally when I sell this van I can decide if it is better to invest in the German Ersbacher heater as a selling point. Includes Happybuy Diesel Heater. Or. Includes German Ersbacher Diesel Heater ... so silly .... package arrived ! I made the right choice ! for the price (around $80) compared to Ersbacher (around $1500) this is awesome ! I honestly feel they are all the same inside. the casting is clean the box was sealed and everything secure inside ! crAZY ! HAPPYBUY I am a Happy Buyer !!

Poor quality control, missing and incompatible parts
update: I am raising my review from a single star to three stars because the seller responded within a few minutes to my message and offered a solution on the spot. If I would’ve primed the fuel properly the heater would’ve started almost instantly, but of course I had to figure everything out myself because there were very minimal instructions. If you have the time and you have access to Facebook there are some very good support groups that will walk you through the installation. One of the support groups even has a 16 part video series, that can also be found by searching YouTube, that covers everything that you need to know to be an expert in installing and managing these heaters.I've run the heater for several hours and it is working very well. Now I just hope it will continue to function without problems as I head into winter.original review:My package arrived missing the air intake tube. It also had a fuel line with fittings that were incompatible. Additionally, the main fan was improperly installed, such that it would not turn when I tried to run the unit. It was easy to fix the fan. the fuel line in the package worked, but it was difficult to install and made the fuel system difficult to bleed. As I noted earlier the fan was jammed against the body of the heater when I received it. I was able to free it up but it still is unnecessarily noisy. If I can fix it without too much trouble I will add another star Now I'm just hoping this seller will be able to send me the missing part.

Blows hot, sips diesel. Cheap but decent.
Sips diesel, would be better if lower parameters were programmed into controller for pump settings, can put out alot of heat but low setting is still very hot. Wired in a toggle to control pump speed and is much better for a small van camper. Compact design, would recommend a fuel tank stem as well, fuel tank is solid for the price but hard to set up with the stem fitting included.
