The MATRIX is the best investment I've ever made in my power tool collection. As someone who has owned various power drill/drivers and impact drill/drivers over the years, this kit has completely changed the game.What truly sets this combo kit apart is the sheer convenience of having everything easily swappable within a single tool. The MATRIX system is a game changer. No more rummaging through a cluttered toolbox to find the right tool for the job. With this kit, you have it all in one place. I love the case for that. Not sure what to do when I get additional attachments but I'll cross that bridge when it's time.I have to admit that I haven't had the opportunity to test every attachment thoroughly, but so far, I've used the drill/driver, impact, and jigsaw attachments, and they've all been remarkably easy to use and incredibly effective. The drill/driver powers through various tasks, from simple household projects to more complex DIY endeavours, with precision and ease. The impact driver delivers the force needed for those tougher jobs, while the jigsaw attachment has proved to be a reliable addition to my toolkit.The power and performance of the tools in this kit are outstanding. They provide a seamless transition between tasks, thanks to the quick and hassle-free attachment changes. This not only saves time but also enhances overall productivity.Edit: I purchased this on Jul 31, 2023. The main unit only stopped working on January 15, 2025. This doesn't change my rating as I am looking to either get it repaired or replaced. It is a fantastic kit and value for your money.

This is my second Black & Decker Matrix drill set. I have been using the Matrix system for more than a year now and love it. So when I needed a second drill for a weekend home, I didn't hesitate to pick up another Matrix set.The system itself works great for DIY projects. The attachments are easily connected and swapped out as needed. The base unit fits well in your hand and is not so heavy that you tire when having to hold it for long periods of time. I like the variety of attachments in this particular set and others, like a trim saw, are available if you want to add to the system. The 20v battery holds a charge for a long time between uses and is easily swapped out if you pick up a spare for longer working times on a project.The Matrix system is especially nice in homes where space is at a premium - you get a wide selection of tools without having to store full size versions of each tool.The case is ok - there is a designated space for each tool carved out of the interior plastic lining and there are separate owners manual for each item. There isn't any room to store additional tools so plan to pick up a tool bag if you like to carry additional items along with your drill.This is an exceptional set for DIYers and a great way to have tools like a router or jigsaw on hand without having to buy and store full size versions of each tool.The Matrix system by Black & Decker is excellent and worth checking out "a la carte" if this particular set does not have the tools that you need.

Does the job and is handy to have all your power tools at arms reach instead of all over the bench or on the floor in the way if you're working in a confined area. Set is well built and compact. 20v tools are generally strong enough for anything the average person will need to do.The mounting mechanism for the accessory attachments has a strong spring to lock them in/on, so no worries about things coming apart while in use. I like it so well I bought all the other attachments except the air compressor. I have a couple little pumps if need be and don't see myself in a position to need one where I don't have power or a vehicle to use. Neat idea for some, but it won't blow enough air to be useful clearing an area or part.I'm fairly impressed Black & Decker has stepped up with an affordable power-tool kit that seems tough enough for any handyman around the house, or even in your personal vehicle for an occasional after-hours quick call-out on the job. Everything in one box without having to carry your big tool box weighing 50-75 lbs or more.A pretty neat idea for portable power-tools I've come to appreciate. All I can say is "Try it, you might like it"!

This set is sturdy and works great, except, as others have mentioned the battery was dead on arrival and wouldn't charge. I have another B&D battery and with a couple of pennies was able to revive this battery and it is now taking a charge. Looking forward to using all the tools. I have a couple of 3rd party 6ah batteries and they really make things easy.Battery charge:Online videos show how to revive a dead battery with a couple of pennies and another good battery.

I have always used Black and Decker tools. I liked this kit because it was matrix. I already have several matrix attachments and this completed my set. Dont need a lot of tools, just emergency use. This give me everything right at my finger tips. Only one problem, the battery was bad right out of the box. Had to order 2 new batteries.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:BEWARE!!!! Amazon is sending out units with bad batteries!! I've been through four of these through Amazon three to my father-in-law has returns all bad batteries blinking red lights. One to my father. The batteries are old and from 2021 not sure why. Make sure you take this up with Amazon. Also take it up with Black & Decker to get new batteries issued. Try to speak to a live person rather than go through email. You need the model number of the battery and the date code take pictures and send it to Black & Decker you'll get new ones. Maybe Amazon is trying to sell old stock but there's something funny going on here beware!
