Way better than a sleeping pad
Way better than a sleeping pad. It's just the thing for a hammock. I put it inside a 30f bag and it stayed put and stayed warm on a 35f night. On a 50F night, just this and a fleece blanket was enough, and it's wide so staying centered on it. It seems like a durable material and they sewed a nice trim around the edges, and attachment points that help put it on the right diagonal. Compared to a sleeping pad it's huge, weighs next to nothing and is less bulky. The stuff sack can double as a ventilated peak bag with a foot or so of cord.

Good insulation for inside your hammock
I generally love all of my Hennessy Hammock equipment and for what this product is designed to do, it does it well. I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars, as I have begun to move away from the in hammock insulation and towards external insulation. That said, this weighs much less than any external insulation and does provide pretty good protection from the expected temperature ranges. In general, I struggle to keep any of the in hammock pads under me and wake up with a cold back until I get it re-positioned (not an issue with external insulation). I would still strongly recommend this product over using the old windshield reflector, fits you better and the hammock better. If you are concerned with weight, it is very light and fits nicely in your pack. They are very durable. If I am doing a quick one night hang, I am using this due to its ease of use (zero set up time).

A must have for Hennessy Hammock owners
I purchased this after first trying the car solar shade alternative. The shade worked OK when it was under me. Problem with it is that it moved every time I shifted or got out of the Hammock. This pad stays in place, is very warm, and packs up smaller than the car shade. The mat is also large enough to cradle your shoulders and sides. A must have for Hennessy Hammock owners.

This thing is awesome. I used it the other week when it was a 40 degree night. I was warm in my bag. My buddy who has a similar bag with out one of these froze all night. We use our hammocks more than tents. In January when it was 10 degrees I put it under my bag on the ground. Warm all night. Great product

Works well but it is bulky and hard to set up
It will keep you warm in the cool mountain air when your sleeping bag compresses. Also, it does strap into the clips which helps to hold it in place and keep it from sliding around in the night. I gave it 4 stars because it is very bulky in the backpack and it is a wrestling match to get it between the layers of the hammock.

Cold spots still exist
Got this for my Hennessey Expedition Jungle which has a double layer bottom with space between the layers to clip the pad in. I found that despite setting the pad on the correct diagonal I still experienced cold spots especially near the shoulders. If I moved off the footprint of the pad I felt drafts. I ended up opting for an insulated under quilt that covers the entire hammock bottom and thus allows more freedom of movement. Definitely a more expensive solution but it’s no fun sleeping cold.

Just great , I should know.
I spent years in the jungle in a Hennessy hammock back in the 90s in Central America. It was the best then. We modified them allot. Nowadays most all hammocks over 100 bucks are the real deal. You still need to modify and do a little sewing if you want a Taylor fit . This pad is great. If it doesn’t shed bits of aluminium like the car sun shades we used to use then it will be gold. I use mine as a solar cooker to heat up a gallon of h2o for a shower. A bubble pad is a bubble pad but hey this one seems to be just a little better thought out. Just like their hammocks.

Very cool! (Pun intended.)
No more crinkly emergency blankets taped underneath - this thing gets the job done. Clicks in easily and definitely catches heat. Great seller, fast shipping, great prices. Thanks!
