The Complete After Series Collection 5 Books Box Set by Anna Todd (After Ever Happy, After, After We Collided, After We Fell, Before)

I absolutely love this series! I read the books first and then watched the movie, but honestly, I prefer the books. There's so much more detail and depth to the story that really draws you in. If you love a good love story, you can’t go wrong with this one. Highly recommend both the books and the movie, but the books are definitely where it’s at!

These books are great. They are a page turner and make you not want to put the book down. This is a love story based on college aged students that has lots of drama so you keep wanting to read more.

I read all of these books in about 8 days. Amazing story line. Some reviewers are getting caught up saying that "Hardin was abusive" and these books are about "abusive relationships." I disagree. I saw this as a series about a young man (Hardin) who had childhood trauma as a result of his experiences and in turn, he lost sight of who he was and the beauty of love and life- until he met someone (Tessa) who colored his world and he wanted to do better for her, for him, for them. Change is not an overnight process, and the author describes the changes that take place, the ebb and flow of how relationships often go. People are imperfect, and he made mistakes, as did Tessa, but these are young people learning how to navigate relationships (and in Tessa's case she had little to no experience with a serious relationship). Hardin had experiences that were nothing more than an "experience" until he met Tessa so you could say he was also inexperienced with relationships as well. The book takes you on their journey, while explaining the affects from upbringings on how you manage relationships, insecurities, etc. I think it was a wonderful series, and I think there are wonderful learning points. I won't write anymore so as not to ruin the series with spoilers, but I highly recommend the series. Also, note the series is descriptive about sex, so I would probably note that if it makes you uneasy to read about or gift.

My wife spent 2 weeks straight not able to do anything til she completed this whole series she absolutely loved them .. it was Amazing to see her into a book like that again.. she look peaceful happy and unstressed... She claims everyone should read this especially if they don't understand addiction..

I am only about 1/4 of the way through the first book but I have seen all the movies. So far the first book is very similar to the movie, which I like! There is more detail in the book and it’s not as graphic as the movies but still very similar to the movie. If you’ve seen the movie the books are still 100% worth reading. If you haven’t seen the movies, read the books and you will love the movies! I cannot put the first book down! I promise if you are in for a spicy love story, these books are for you!

I came across the movie After and watched it. I liked it. I was unaware of the book series. I bought the books because I wanted to know what happens next. I was not prepared for how completely different the books and characters are from the movie. They "dumbed down" the movie and rated it PG. They changed many things, some I don't know why. The books are definitely R content. Lots of sex, and quite graphic. When Hardin was asked in the movie who he loved most in the world by Tessa, he said himself. Hardin didn't love himself. He hated himself and everyone else. He was verbally abusive, violent, mean and said things to hurt others intentionally. He had no filter and used the "F" word and many others constantly. He was horrible to Tessa. She was portrayed as a meek, shy, baggy clothed young woman. I found the books hard to put down at times and hard to pick up and read other times. Their journey was long and complicated. I read a review that stated in it that no one should go through the process that this couple goes through. I disagree. They loved each other deeply, but Hardin didn't really know how to love anyone. And with good reason. He should have gotten help when he was a child after experiencing a very traumatic situation involving his mother and other situations in his life. Tessa was a strong woman who eventually separated herself from Hardin until he was able to get help and become a functioning human being. If they had not fallen for each other, Hardin would probably be the same person. He was extremely intelligent and a very talented writer. It took many years for them to finally come together in a healthy love. I suffer from PTSD, and found myself becoming full of anxiety at times. I can't imagine the next movie, which is rated R. Hardin was likable in the movie, despite the "Bet". All of a sudden he's going to become an unlikable person. Looking forward to seeing next movie based on second book. I gave the book series 5 stars because even though it was a tough read, emotionally, isn't that what good writing is all about. I went through every emotion reading this series.
