Thank you for providing an updated replacement for my Singer Sewing Machine 401A's foot pedal. It is working perfectly and providing a real boost of power to my machine. It did take some rigging to attach it to the machine cabinet so that the knee control would correctly press this new pedal down. I want to mention that if anyone is intending to use it to power the knee control rather than by foot. My Singer is from 1959, but the cabinet is Singer No. 65 Cabinet for much older machines. At the front, it contains a bracket which holds the original foot pedal with the knee assembly attached to the right so when you press the knee control, it presses the foot pedal. I had to remove the pedal bracket and add a simple L bracket to hold the new foot pedal, along with a piece of double sided sticky tape to hold it in place. To the knee control, I had to add 2 washers with double sided sticky & scotch tape in order to push the foot pedal all the way. But it works...I have more power than before and am back in the mask making business! Thanks for a good product which I hope lasts many years.

The media could not be loaded. I like that this pedal can run the sewing machine without me having to turn the handwheel first. It plugged into my Singer 301A sewing machine easily and I'm very happy with this purchase.

The original pedal had a strange fixed Reyes portion on the right side of the rheostat. That race portion didn’t do anything but made it more difficult to use the rheostat button. This new one is made differently and works much smoother than the old one. It also seems to give the machine more power than it had before. I don’t know what would cause that.

The two prong end of the cord fits perfectly into my Singer 403 vintage sewing machine, and the pedal works as expected (nice variable speed, stops when I take my foot off). Great find on Amazon, now I can keep using this sewing machine without fear of a short circuit.

Works really well to replace the original Singer footpedal with the oddly placed "button" on the left side. (I've been told those were designed to work with the high heels women wore in the 1950s, which might make sense... but it's really much harder to use in flats or sock feet!) I may buy one of these for each of the vintage machines they'll fit. Also nice to not have to worry about 60 year old wiring inside the original foot pedal.
