Review: Timely - It is welcome to have a textbook that is available early enough for teachers of the new program to organize and choose approaches and texts for their Year 1 students LAL this fall. The text is VERY LONG, VERY HEAVY (402 pages) The Table of Contents is divided by the new Areas of Exploration which is very concept oriented. This is interesting and helpful in organizing a syllabus. Less helpful is the index. Assessments (such as the Individual Oral) are not listed as such. There is at least one big error, on page 72 about the oral, confusing LAL with the LIT IO. In short, this is comprehensive and over-whelming. I recommend it for teachers but I for one will not be having my students purchase it.
