Not just for Sabbath 12" goodness in affordable package!
Most small amps have smaller speakers. This amp includes a real-deal 12 inch speaker. It is geared towards crunch and distortion-and gets you nice fat saturated tones even with single-coils. Keep the gain at 2 or so and it will get you some nice cleans but if you really want chime go with Roland, Vox or Fender. The Pre-boost channel is very usable and is foot-switchable but I haven't used it that way. I just sit in front of it and click the switch. Like a really nice dirt pedal thrown in for free. I tend to run pedals through the regular channel but have found the effects loop to be a nice value-added feature if I want a more ambient sound on either delay (which I use a lot) or chorus (which I dabble in sometimes.) I tend to use the <1 watt setting which is still loud enough through that awesome 12" to remind you this is a real fire-breathing TUBE amp here that it might be a little too much for some--back off the volume and crank the gain and you can get some serious sizzle and grind but not the best choice for true "bedroom" or "Apt" volume practice. The headphone/line-out answers that call, though if you need a one-size fits all solution. It's just so much more rewarding to park right in front of the speaker and let the interaction of the strings and the tubes rattle the firmament. With a Mojohand Iron Bell into a Catalinbread Echorec you can cop some AMAZING Gilmouresque/Pink Floyd tones. With the gain on tap and the cleverly voiced tone controls if you keep the gain below 5 you can run the gamut from Santana-y sustain to ANgus Crunch to Iommi-approved grind with almost any humbucker ax. Gain up, treble down and you get into some Cream-era Clapton sounds. Boost the treble, work your guitar volume knob and you can get pretty VanHalen-y brown tones. MacDaddy music did right by me and they are serious about satisfying their customers and ensuring a pristine reputation. I'm sorry if I sound too gushy--I just love this amp and can't find anything to complain about. I Love that even with single-coils (tele, strat, lipsticks and p-90s) I don't need a dirt pedal. I Love that it plays well with any pedals in front or in the loop. OH YEAH and it NAILS SABBATH TONES FOR DAYS!!! Tons of fun in a small, versatile box. Not suited to fill a hall unless mic'ed but if you don't mind cranked amp tones can hang with a live drum set--but no loud cleans. That's why Fender made Twins and Vox made AC-30s, after all. Simply a great amp for less than a "boutique" cab costs. If you want to gig with it I would get the footswitch-and for big rooms get it mic'ed right but for a practice or recording amp it simply stunning.

Awesome sound, no drive pedal needed
Awesome sound, no drive pedal needed, and there is always more gain if you want more dirt in your sound. It doesn't clean up like a fender but you can't beat it for that Sabbath sound. It doesn't have reverb built in but it does have an fx loop to put one in the amp chain. I wish it was dual channel foot switchable, but the foot switch (not included) only affects the pre-boost.

This amp shines like a burning star.
It's worth every penny. Extremely versatile. The only caveat is that it does not do plan clean sounds well. It can do clean but it just doesn't have a good bell like crystal clean, like you would get on a lionheart or blackheart (from crate). Even the Ironheart range has better cleans. But cleans are available here, you just have to do a lot of tweaking. Try tone at 3 on the bridge, it seems to work well at the lower drive settings. But for anything beyond plain clean it shines like a burning star. Now, this is a $600 amp, and it's closest cousin would be the Ironheart 30 watt 112 combo at $700. It is very difficult to say which one you would want to buy as the IRT30-112 is only a bit more expensive. But I would say, that either is a very good choice. Do research into both to make sure you are getting what you want. I wouldn't want to buy both because they overlap in many areas. It would be a very difficult decision if you had to decide between those two amps!

It's one awesome little amp
As a long time Black Sabbath and Tony Iommi fan what can I say? It's one awesome little amp. 15 watts or 1 watt into a twelve inch speaker which is perfect for practice, recording and even small gigs. Killer tone in a small package. I'm glad I bit the bullet and bought this.
