The Valley Enterprises Icom CT-17 USB 10-foot cable works perfectly
This item was ordered on Sunday of a national holiday weekend, and it was processed on the holiday. It was shipped out, and arrived in two business days with standard shipping to the East Coast. The item worked perfectly on the first attempt including downloading the driver from the Valley Enterprises site. The 10-foot cable version was purchased so there were no issues with the distance between the computer. Background–The motherboard had a serial header and the 9-pin RS-232 port but no matter what was done, the comm port would not work with the CT-17 generic interface. It worked before with a different motherboard and 32-bit operating system. On the newer, in-house built computer, and 64-bit operating system, the comm ports were disabled in the BIOS.Then the driver software, downloaded from Valley Enterprises, was installed. After the driver installation, the Valley Enterprises cable, the CT-17 version, was connect and everything worked. There have been zero, no issues in using the cable doing on a month.

Works perfectly with Icom IC-765 and Win 10
This is a very high quality cable and works perfectly with my Icom Ic-765 using a Win 10 computer. As soon as the USB connector was inserted, the cable was recognized with no driver installation required. The rig control software that I'm using recognized the interface cable, and worked perfectly. If you need a interface cable for your Icom CI-V equipped radio, look no further. This is likely to be the best available.

Works great with Windows 8.1
I bought this cable to interface my new Windows 8.1 laptop with no serial ports to several pieces of Icom equipment. It worked as soon as I plugged it in. No driver issues or other problems. It just works. One thing I found was that my Bluetooth interface built into the laptop used up most of the COM ports between 1 and 20. Since I have a few programs that cannot be configured to access high COM port numbers, I temporarily disabled Bluetooth and it released the lower number COM ports for use with this product and a couple of other FTDI based USB to serial converters. I then re-enabled Bluetooth which automatically populated the higher number COM ports. I have the CI-V, serial converters, and a USB sound card connected to a USB hub so that by plugging in just the hub cable, I can use rig control, rotor control, PTT, and digital modes.

This cable works fine with my PC and my IC706MKIIG using Ham Radio Deluxe to control the radio. Of course the IC706MKIIG doesn't support all the possible features available for newer radios, but setting frequencies into software memory is simple and effective. It does NOT, however, allow programming the radio's memory channels since the 706 does not support doing this. The nice thing is that several memory groups, offsets, and modes can be set up in the Ham Radio Deluxe control software to use when connected to the radio. This includes scanning, etc.The 10 foot length of this cable is quite handy for my particular setup since my computer is somewhat remote from the radio's location.I have not hooked up a TX or RX audio link into Ham Radio Deluxe but this can be done using various interfaces available commercially or shown online on the internet for the DIY folks. These functions, of course, do not use the USB cable but are supported on the 13 Pin DIN Male Connector used for auxiliary Keying, TX AF, RX AF, and other circuitry and functions.

Lightweight solution for Icom CI-V radio interface
Seamless installation under Windows 10, and works perfectly with my Icom IC-706II. I simply followed the instructions and loaded the FTDI driver software in advance of connecting the interface to my PC then set the appropriate addresses in software to match my radio. This is a great solution to allow use of newer computer equipment (that don't have an RS-232 serial port) with older radios using the CI-V interface for rig control - without the use of USB to RS-232 adapters and all the pitfalls that can come with it. There may be cheaper options out there, but this interface uses a genuine FTDI chip and is well-made.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do.
Provides CAT control for my ICOM 7300 radio. Does what it's supposed to do. I use it for FT8 (WSJT-X) and with the N3FJP software.

Works Great. Instant setup.
Just got this in the mail today. It arrived days before the estimated date. I plugged it into my Icom IC-735 and the USB connector into my laptop and it instantly downloaded the driver and I was in business with Ham Radio Deluxe and DM-780. I had been using a home brew interface, but it never worked just right with my system. This cable works perfectly! The Icom version is around $150, this works great at $23!
