DEPSTECH Wireless Endoscope, 5.5mm Ultra-Thin HD WiFi Borescope, 16 inch Focal Distance Snake Inspection Camera with Phone Mount Holder and Magical Claw for Android & iOS Smartphone Tablet -16.5FT

I opened the box, charged it for 15 minutes, turned it on, found Jetion in my phones wifi, selected it and entered the password (12345678), then opened the DEPSTECH app on my phone and it was working. It was that easy. I already own an older Depstech camera, so I had the app on my phone.I've owned an older Depstech endoscope for awhile, it is 8.5mm diameter and would not fit in some locations (to large diameter). This little camera, 5.5mm, easily fits in places I couldn't reach before. It is a very easy to use camera, gives good photos and videos and lasts long enough for my needs on a single battery charge. Without timing it, my guess is the battery lasts more than 20 minutes which is adequate for my needs. And if needed, the camera works with an external battery or USB charger. With an external battery connected to the micro USB port, run time could be days. If connected to a powered USB charger, run time could be forever, which is beyond anything I can imagine myself needing.It's a great little camera. Easy to use.

First, the app downloaded with no problem. The unit had enough of a charge when it came to test it immediately and it worked like a charm. Very easy to use. I own a Depsthech otoscope for examining my ears and this unit is even easier to work.I reason I bought this unit was to hopefully save time and money. I own rental properties that Invariably present heating ventilation issues and I got this unit to try and diagnose these without bringing in the HVAC guy at $100/hour. I had an issue that I used this for over the weekend. I had a vent that was providing very little heat in one of my houses. I ran the cable to the first bend and found a piece of insulation that had gotten stuck. Sloppy workmanship by the installer (or purposely) but that's a whole other issue. I was able to remove the obstruction by separating the duct and saved probably $2-300 in the process. Worked great an paid for itself in the first week. Very happy camper. I can see many application in which to use this. Highly recommended.

I've had a chance to use this twice already within the last week. Just used it to help find and pull a toy dinosaur (covered in hair and gunk) out of the bathtub drain. :-P Though it may not work for every situation you're faced with, it is super useful for most situations and it's inexpensive enough where I think that everyone could find at least one situation in their life to justify having bought it.*Pros*- The cabling *is* semi-rigid, as described.- At the right distance, the camera quality is worth the price and good for the size of cabling.- The 5.5mm head and cabling is thin and can get you into small spots nicely.- Setup and use is super simple (turn on device, search for the wifi SSID on your phone, enter password, start software).- Attachments and bendy cable claw included.*Cons*- The head (end of the cabling with the camera) is a little long, so you can't bend the cable until a little ways down.- The LEDs at the end could be a lot brighter.- The natural curl of the cabling due to packaging can be annoying (not much can be done about this, though).- The semi-rigid nature and long camera at the end makes it difficult to use in pipes.*Summary*I'm glad I bought this device. I wouldn't hesitate buying this again, or recommending it. Might even buy a slightly larger diameter one with higher quality to have that, as well, in situation where I can use a larger diameter.

This paid for itself on the first use.I needed to see the top of my first-floor ceiling (2 story house) to be sure there was no mold or water damage. I was able to drill a 3/8 inch hole in the drywall, and using gradual bending of the stiff camera wire, arc the camera so I could look down onto the ceiling from above.The only problem I encountered was the camera arced all the way down and touched the surface of the ceiling drywall, making it too close to inspect. I used electrical tape and attached a piece of 12 gauge copper wire to the camera tip (see photo). This kept the camera far enough off the surface to be able to see a six inch circle, and confirm everything was dry and clean! The depth of focus on this camera is amazing, everything is clear from 1" to at least 16". It works better in daylight, but the dimmable lightring built in around the camera worked fine in the dark.I had none of the problems others reported attaching to my phone, and the free application worked flawlessly. I did charge the unit for 12 hours before the first use.This saved me opening up an inspection hole that would require drywall work to close up, and have meant retexturing the ceiling. Now a dab of filler and we're done!We can't wait for the next thing we need to go looking at!

I've owned the older model and had issues with connection on Android without keeping the device plugged in all the time. This new version took a charge and worked wonderfully!The new slimmer design allows you to get into places that you couldn't before and provides enough light to see in the dark, tight areas you can go into. It also came with a grabber tool in addition to the ends that are designed to fit on the end of this device. Quite a bargain at this price point.I would highly recommend this to anyone in need of this type of solution, fantastic execution.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  This is a great product. The camera is clear and has a wide field of view. It is nice to have the wireless capability. The video quality is smooth. This is a useful tool. It was exciting to use this to inspect areas that aren't normally accessable. And the accessories were useful too.

I bought this device so I could view objects in hard to reach areas. I did not realize you have to download and app an log into the manufacturer's site to view the picture. I'm security conscious and I didn't want the app to have full access to my device. Be aware it does not connect to your phone with wifi. I wanted to view directly from my phone to the camera. Not possible with this model.
