Tokyo Ghoul re Call to EXIST (PS4)

Just right off the bat i've got to admit something, i haven't finished this game yet HOWEVER i think i've played enough hours of it to give a good enough interpretation of what the game is trying to be and whether or not this will be worth a purchase for you. The gameplay of this game plays very much like an old-school beat 'em up or hack n' slash game if you mixed it with a bit of a third person shooter with light RPG mechanics, that is essentially the meat of the game and i could end the review there because anyone who's touched a video game in the last 10 years will know exactly what i'm talking about just from that description alone, but let's get into modes anyway: RECOLLECTIONS: This is your single player campaign that plays through sections of the anime/manga, however it doesn't go in-depth or anything, you will need to have prior knowledge of the series (i've only read the first manga series, not ;re so i can't speak for that section of the game) it's faithful enough to the source material, and there's enough information to know what's going on, but without the important character development that the anime and manga does, you wont feel attached without either reading the manga or watching the anime, which the game uses stills from by the way instead of animated cutscenes. SUBSISTENCE: this section is your multiplayer PVP modes and CO-OP modes and allows you to play through the campaign levels with real people or bots but without the actual story attached, a PVP mode called 'Battle' where there's ghouls VS investigators, and there's a 'Survival' mode which.. well it is a survival mode, you already know what that is right? ever played a beat 'em up before? alright. as well as there also being your basic ranking system, and that is pretty much it. The best part of this game is probably the customization, you're allowed to make three different characters, one for each class in the game, and by beating different levels over and over, fighting strong enemies, not dying as much, and by finishing stages in shortest times possible rewards you with better gear as far as i've experienced, which means you unlock better weapons and attacks as well as cooler cosmetics. CONCLUSION: Now at the end of the day, this is by all means an alright game, it just lacks content and i can only hope that Bandai continues their tradition of patching their anime games and giving them content updates so this game wont be as hollow, but as it stands i can't recommend this game at full price as there is not enough meat on this bone to warrant the current £45.40 price point. And that's that, 3/5

Will keep it short and simple. If you enjoyed the Naruto games, but love Tokyo Ghoul You can't go wrong.

Quite frankly a terrible game, I was expecting more considering the anime was such a huge success but this game was poorly executed. I've had better free dlc

Call to Exist is a third-person survival action game that lets players fight as ghouls, investigators, or quinques in the brutal world of Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul:re. It combines a story mode loosely following the anime with online modes like co-op and PvP.
