Don't skip this. Important part of refreshing the feel of your Miata.
Don't get a third-party unit. Just get a genuine one and call it a day. Really helpswith noise intrusion and the feel of the shifter. 4 bolts and you're done; sorta a lie, still need to pull thecenter console area, but its pretty easy.

Great replacement
its on my 1996 miata, fits well, no problems while installing but i would recommend putting about 2 droplets of oil on the hole or around the shifter to slide it in easier (i did it to mine and went in like butter). Will buy again tbh. The price is just a little expensive for a broke dude like me lmao.

Perfect as expected since OEM.
Replaced the ripped inner shift boot on my 1999 miata. Hopefully it lasts a long time.

Great genuine Mazda part
The bellows rip after 8-10 years and outside air and heat enters the cabin through the shifter boot area. This corrects the air leakage in the shifter boot area.

Good OEM quality part
This gearbox cover is very well made. I'm using it to replace a 21 year old one, and it looks and feels like it will last another 21 years.

Perfect replacement
Item arrived as described. My 91 Miata's insulation shift boot was ripped. This fit perfectly. Easy diy job to replace the shifter boot, while you have the boot off, best to rebuild the shifter bushings, if things are sloppy.Will buy again!
