So. I've used these for two seasons. They work. The lids fit fine and I like having them on to help germinate seeds a bit faster. No issues with leaking. However, I hate these seed trays/cells. Using them heavily this year, they have been so much frustration because the holes on the bottom of the cells are so small and it's nearly impossible to get my seedlings OUT. I had to use a chopstick to loosen around the edges. So frustrating and I've accidentally torn seedlings in the process. As I've been planting my seedlings, I've been tossing the trays in the trash because I can't take it.

This was my second time purchasing these because they are so versatile. The first two sets I purchased maybe 5 years ago came in both large and small size inserts, with the small ones being the size of a plug (a large thumb). The inserts sit slightly off the bottom of the tray allowing you to fill it slightly so you can do bottom up watering, or just give it some extra water on a hot day once seeds established and your at work all day. They feel more durable then most of the locally acquired seed starting trays so I think you could easily get a few years out of them.
