Experiential Therapy Can Really Make a Difference
This is an excellent book for those who are thinking about trying Experiential Therapy for their clients. But techniques alone will not a good experiential therapist make.Safety issues are well, and wisely, covered. But unless the Therapist can think on his or her feet whilst all hell is breaking loose, then all the techniques in the world are useless. Therapists will come across situations that no amount of reading or training will prepare them for.My view is that a Therapist must experience, as a client, the power of experiential therapy in healing past trauma. After this has been done, and resolution achieved, then they may be ready to try facilitation (with a consenting client), together with the support of an experienced facilitator, who can step in if they lose the plot.Experiential Therapy facilitation is not for the weak at heart, but the rewards are enormous, and the difference it can make to clients is life-changing. And for those willing to go down that path, this book is the classic guide.

Exploring the "drama within"
In "The Drama Within: Psychodrama and Experiential Therapy," prolific author Tian Dayton offers a look at the often-misunderstood method of psychodrama, which is the root of role-playing techniques. Her book is readable and informative for clinicians, students of psychodrama and people interested in alternative therapeutic treatments, with a special focus on psychodramatic treatment of adult children of alcoholic and dysfunctional homes. Her "how it can help" segments offer specific commentary on psychodramatic techniques and approaches.
