Phenomenal Parka - Durable, High Quality and Very Cozy
I have used this jacket for two winters now and it looks just like it did when it arrived. I'm the volunteer caretaker of an eight-acre cemetery in Ohio, so I work every day, including during the winter. This jacket has seen me through snow-shoveling, tree planting and pruning, lots of bending while collecting downed tree limbs, and many winter gardening tasks. As a vegetarian for 40 years now, I am always thrilled to find vegan clothing options.I should have purchased a medium, but I bought a large. I am 5'3 and weigh 128 lbs. and the size chart indicated I needed a medium. I didn't know how INCREDIBLY WARM the parka would be and I thought I would be putting a couple of layers under it so I bought a large. It turns out I usually wear a tank top or a t-shirt under the parka on the coldest of days and I am never cold in it. Even though it is too large on me, drafts don't get in. Please go by the size charts and don't buy larger than necessary thinking you'll need layers underneath because you won't, at least not in most areas of the country.I love the abundance of pockets and the combination of a zipper and snaps. You can snap this baby clear up to your chin if you want. The cuffs don't admit any cold air since there are knit fabric cuffs under the sleeve cuffs. I nearly always wear a slouch beanie to keep my head warm, but it's nice to have the option of the hood on windy days.I have washed the parka four times now, despite the fact that the tag says "dry clean." I wash it on the delicate cycle and put it in the dryer on "air dry" for about 30 minutes to insure its poofiness, then let it hang to finish drying. It still looks brand new. I bought it in black and the color has never run. The pictures in my review are of the parka after the fourth washing. The faux fur comes out beautifully after the air dry cycle on the dryer. There is virtually no lint in the dryer on the air dry setting, so don't worry that you'll mess up the faux fur by washing the parka. If you wash it like I do, there is no need to dry clean it. The main reason I have washed it as often as I have is because 3 of my 5 cats consider this parka the best bed ever, so it serves that function if I toss it on a chair when I get home rather than hang it up. :)I am delighted with this wonderfully made parka and imagine it will last me for many, many years to come.

Many great features, but Ultimately a NO (returned)
I SO wanted to love this coat! I tried it along with two other parkas for several weeks, giving each coat at least a week of January's worst in Philadelphia, PA. Temps ranged from 10-37 degrees, with snow, ice and strong winds. I walk my dog several times a day and at night, so this coat got a lot of trials. It was the warmest one I tried, but ultimately the cons outweighed the pros and I returned it.Pros:1. It is HARD to find a really warm, functional and attractive coat NOT made with goose/duck down. If you're vegan or otherwise ethical, this coat is worth a look. It's very well made, with great color choices.2. Lots of great functional features!>Pockets in places you never knew you needed them, including a hidden pocket on the left wrist>Thick, knitted wrist cuffs with a thumb hole if you want it>Insulated inside the entire length to keep your thighs and bum warm>Heavy-duty plastic zipper and a placket that covers it from wind seeping in (zipper is NOT 2-way, but didn't matter)>Insulated and faux-fur lined inside the hood3. Very warm! This was the warmest coat I tried, even in the coldest, iciest, windiest days.4. Quality materials. This coat appears it will last a very long time. However, I only wore it for a week so I don't know how the stitching, zipper, etc will hold up over time.5. Gorgeous color: The grape color is beautiful and one of the reasons I tried to love this coat so much!Cons:1. It fits with no discernable shape. It's like a giant bag, or a bell. And the inside waist pull-cord does not change the shape of the coat (i.e.: pull it into your waist) it only tightens the inside to keep up-drafts out.2. Too tight across chest and very tight on arms. I could not wear anything other than a single light layer underneath, and my range of motion was uncomfortably limited. I am an average 150 lb, 5'7 woman with a B cup. There's no reason a Medium shouldn't fit. I could have sized up, but then that "no discernable bag/bell shape" issue would have been even worse.3. The hood. OMG the hood. The edge fur is SO LONG and all over the place. I couldn't keep the fur off my face unless the hood was completely off my head. I kept trying different ways of pulling the hood up to my neck and face without the fur getting in my eyes and mouth. Good luck if it's windy. If you zip the hood up all the way, you can't actually see out of it, the hole is so small and the fur so long. I imagine this would be great if you wanted to sleep in it. The hood is also too tight to be able to wear a hat underneath, so you can either wear a hat, OR the hood, but not both.4. You need better gloves: So many pockets! And YET, not any you can actually put your hands into! The upper chest pockets are too high to comfortably put your hands into for warmth. The lower pockets are tight and only open at the top, which makes them too tight and awkward to get hands into. Don't expect to keep your hands warm in pockets: get better gloves.5. My pet's fur stuck to the material very obviously. It might be hard to keep this looking clean over timeAs much as I wanted to love this coat, it has to go back. Ultimately, it didn't fit right and I kept fighting with the hood.

Incredible against Chicago winters
This coat is absolutely incredible! Chicago weather simply does not penetrate. Sometimes it’s almost too warm. I’ll never buy a winter coat anywhere else. And I love the proud vegan advertising

Love it
Bought this in 2019. Its 2022 & its still in amazing condition. I live in Buffalo NY & wear this coat to Bills games - this is from a record low temp game that was about 0degrees F & i was comfortable! The fur in the pic is a replacement cuz I accidentally burned the original. Highly recommend for legit cold. Also it has so many pockets!

Had to return
Though I loved the coat I did have to return it. The hood was amazing, i loved the colour of this coat and the length of the jacket. Unfortunately the jacket was not as warm as advertised and the coat is definitely not wind proof. The zipper is not long enough so majority of you legs are exposed so a good gust of wind will have you freezing cold. The arms of the coat were not well insulated either.

Surprisingly warm!!
I bought this coat to replace a NorthFace winter jacket. It is so warm. It is currently-33 (-47C with the wind) and it kept me warm while I was outside. It is heavy --so it may be too warm for those transition days between seasons. The fur does not come off the hood. The hood is lined and so cozy. The coat goes down to my knees. The bottom of the zipper is starting to come unsewn but should be a quick fix. It has lots of pockets and an adjustable waist. I love it and would recommend it to anyone who needs a qi ter jacket.

Alpine North
Large fits 60 inch tall and 140 lb person. I had to return the medium. The thumb holes will keep sleeve rib inside mittens and tons of pockets all over. I did switch color from the mauve/purple to Black. Inside is orange, fur around hood. -13 C with wind and I was warm as toast just above knees to torso and arms. 4 star cause I have to wait with hope it meets the -30 C winter cold but have to wait until next yr to find out! If it does its a 5 star.

Cozy warm parka
I had bought an Alpine parka years ago that I LOVED but I lost weight so it was just too big. I was a little nervous about buying a coat online because I have long arms and its difficult to find coats where the sleeves are long enough but I figured with Amazon's excellent return policy I would be ok if it didn't fit. Well, the coat arrived and it fit PERFECTLY!! I've worn it a number of times this winter already on -15 C and -20 C windy mornings and it does NOT disappoint. Cozy and warm! And the hat is so soft and cozy. Love this coat!

The fur of the collar is far too long and block the visibility. It is a safety concern for me.
This jacket is very well made and is very warm. My issue with it is visibility. Tried to wear it in the house to see how it felt, the hood would block completely my eyes, the fur of the collar is so long that it covers my entire face and completely blocked my vision from seeing where I was going. That would be a big safety problem when crossing the street, I would have to push it back completely and then bring it back again it forward.I loved the color and the fit but the issue with the size of the collar is the "why" of the 3 stars. Safety concern.
