Cliff Top DIN USB Charger 18W PD USB-C and QC 3.0 USB Plug Adapter for DIN Socket, Compatible with BMW Ducati Triumph Motorcycles

I needed a Hella charger (BMW and Ducati motorcycles) for the mobile whilst being used as a back-up Sat Nav (the joys of relying upon Garmin!). It worked well on a 1500 mile, 5 day tour fitted to a K16GTL. I specify the bike for two reasons a) being angled and large, the charger needs to be unobtrusive in use, which this was and b) it needs to keep power on whilst in use, as others have found that the charger has failed to make a reliable contact in the socket meaning a loss of power on the move. I too found this unreliable but it was quickly cured by a) slightly bending the negative (outer) leaves on the charger outwards, every alternate one. This improves retention. b) slightly bending the positive clips inside the socket on the bike towards the centre (use a plastic strip e.g. cut an old credit card). This aided contact and retention. It worked on the K16 and MSV4, but may not work on other bikes. I've sealed the body of the charger in heat shrink to improve weather proofing. So, it does what I need with a bit of playing, and charges the phone quicker than it uses power whilst running the MRA navigation app.

Worked fine for a month but then shorted and blew the fuses on my bike. Would therefore not recommend.
