**Update Nov 16, 2020: The good folks in the yyzkee.com customer service department sent out two brand new lights that both work perfectly. They also arrived ten days earlier than promised! Many thanks, I'm changing my rating from three stars to five for standing behind their productsOriginal review---I will happily update this review when I receive the promised replacements, but for now I have to say it's disappointing that these items advertised as "brand new" arrive with half of the lanterns inoperable, due to malfunctioning solar cells. I also had to replace the supplied "new" batteries in order to get these to stay lit for more than two hours. The batteries that I installed made the two functioning lanterns work much better.*And yes, I charged the cells in direct sunlight for two days before attempting to use them.The light and the flicker effect are very realistic when they do work, making them worth spending the extra $20 for actually useful rechargeable batteries. The lantern housing is plastic, but is decorated to give a very realistic metal look.Kudos to the the Zkee customer service dept; their emails have been very friendly and quick in their responses. They assured me they would send replacement lanterns as soon as they were back in stock, which, at this time in late October, they are stating to be available in early November. Not going to be helpful to me this Halloween, which is why I bought them, but they hopefully will be in working order next year.

So I bought 8 of these and put these out the end of June 2019 (2.5 months ago)... and they all worked, and lasted the whole night and were awesome/great ambiance for the back yard.... for the first couple of weeks... and then slowly they all started to last less and less in duration (so I moved them to charge in direct sunlight all day to see if that was the issue), and then about a month in one stopped working, then a week later, another, and another and another. I now only have 4 out of the original 8 that will turn on when its dark and they only last for a few hours. About 2 years ago I had bought a set of 6 other laterns and I look outside at them, and they are all still alive and well 2 years in, and last the whole evening until dawn... and they are in the same location as these new ones (so are getting the same sun intake so it isnt that) these ones are just junk and I wish I never bought them!These were the ones I bought a while ago for reference, I never bought more since I wasnt a fan of the design along the side but I sure am a big fan of their longevity!!!EOYIZW Solar Light Outdoor Dancing Flickering Flames Torches Lights Waterproof 96 LED Lantern Wireless Lighting Lamp for Garden Pathways Yard Patio 2

I have just purchased a second set. Bought them to hang on hooks in the back yard to add ambiance. We live very close to the beach so not all of our days are full sun.They arrived about 2:00 pm, I turned them on and hung them. They came on at dusk and I really like the look of a real flame in them. My husband got up before sunrise about 5:00 am and they were still on. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend. 6/7/2020 adding to my original review -and still very much recommend, two weeks after purchase one of the lamps stopped working ( faulty wiring maybe) anyway i contacted the seller to see what could be done. They replied within a day, they were out of stock but as soon as their supply came in they would send a new one- it took more than a couple of weeks as it seems everything is since Covid - but true to their word, i received an email that not one replacement but two were on the way... What great customer service and we still love the look of the lanterns.

I don't think the solar panels on top of these is big enough to make them last. Only getting an hour or so of light after Sun goes down. Also one of them has stoped working. Ther doo look nice when they are on i jave them in my garden and they du get plenty of light but for some reason only last an hr or so.

When first buying these lanterns, I thought they were AMAZING. Beautiful, elegant, and just all around a great vibe for Halloween. Personally, I don't believe at all this is an outdoor item because it couldn't even handle one small drop. I'm not sure what happened, within a year, all of them, including the one that was dropped, will only turn on when UPSIDE DOWN or side ways. I can't figure out who built this thing that it only turns on in such strange directions. I'm really hoping I had a bad batch. It's been me a long time to actually put a review in because I honestly thought I could fix it or maybe it was a battery issue. Or that I dropped it once, but when it started to happen to the lanterns I didn't drop....well that was disappointing.Big sad.

We have an old miner's cabin, so I added hooks to hang flowers in summer, yet, I realized we couldn't have flowers all year, so I bought these solar lanterns for anytime of year. They were the perfect addition, as they add to the vintage/miner's theme look of the cabin, and the ambiance at night is really cool! They don't offer much light at all, but we love the aesthetic effect. I'll have to add a nighttime photo (if I can capture it adequately). Don't buy these if you are only looking for additional lighting,. I had to take off the metal hooks, as we didn't need them--the clips on the metal hooks didn't work anyway--they would not open. But you can pry the metal bar out of the holes they are inserted in fairly easily to remove. They are also very lightweight.
