LDX-227 Full Metal Gear Standard Digital Servo with 17kg High Torque Dual Ball Bearing for Robot(Control Angle 270)

This is the third LewanSoul servo I’ve purchased to control the camera on a RC crawler. The others were the LDX-218, which have a 180 degree range. I needed more range for backing up, so I ordered this one. Since I’m using a standard RC transmitter and receiver, I use a servo angle expander to double the pulse width range from 1.0 to 2.0mS to 0.5 to 2.5mS. Understating that, this works exactly as expected, and has plenty of torque for this application.

I ordered several of these servos. Delivery description indicates 3 of these servos were delivered today (4-09-25), however I only received 2. I like the product. I would like to receive the servo I was shorted.

You cannot directly position the LDX-227 servo to a specific degree position UNLESS the servo is connected to a separate 9 volt power supply. I used the following Arduino code to test the servo. It's a simple sketch that repeatedly moves the servo from position 0, 90 and then to 180. You should see the servo shaft rotate 180 degrees in one direction and then the the other.void setup() {servo.attach(9);}void loop() {servo.write(0);delay(3000);servo.write(90);delay(3000);servo.write(180);delay(3000);}The LDX-227 servo specification states that the servo has a "Working voltage: 6-7.4V Min [and a] Working Current: 1A No-Load Current." When I tried using both voltages (with a 3A no load current) with the LDX-227 servo there was a soft clicking noise, like the servo was trying to move, but the shaft did not rotate. When I connected the server to a 9 volt supply, the server shaft turned to the expected position, as expected.I wrote the manufacturer over a week ago with a detailed description of the problem and have not received a reply.I'm giving this product "one star". If I could, I'd give it a "no star" rating. Here are my reasons:1) The manufacturer's specifications are wrong. You need at least 9 volts to operate the servo. There should be some specific mention of the voltage requirements for LDX-227 servo.2) Most hobby servos operate between 5 and 7.4 volts. I would not want to power such servos with a 9 volt power supply. I'd be afraid of damaging the "lower voltage" servos.2) Extremely poor customer service.Given all the problems I've had with this servo, I cannot recommend this product. Do not by this servo!

The media could not be loaded. Out of 7 purchased 2 were jittery out of the box.Amazon return is no problem, of course. But if you intend on contacting them be aware that they pretend not to understand basic English (example: "what does jittery mean?" "what does smooth mean?". They will ask for pictures then claim they cannot see them. Just saying.The remaining 5 have decent torque and remain cool even under heavy loads. If you do not want to go with LewanSoul proprietary BUS then use these. They work nicely with RC transmitter and receiver. Power the receiver with about 7.6 V and you're good to go. I'm using it on a custom Rover and wanted to control Rover and Arm from same transmitter at long distances. Taranis 9D and two Frsky X8R's linked together, along with these servos filled the bill.

The servo I received rotates over 220 degrees, not 270 as advertised. I ended up buying a slightly more expensive servo that can accurately be controlled over 270 degrees for my application.

Powerful, sturdy and nicely made servo.

Works better than $5-10 servos. Hasn’t burned out yet whereas the cheaper ones died very fast. Has ball bearing on spline which is nice.
