Quality and size
Seagate is perfect and speed is tops. Out of all portable drives. Seagate is the best. All mine are Seagate as they work instantly. For price wise is. Worth it if you use them a lot and quality is great. Very compact so does not take a lot of room.

Good storage
Makes no sound at least I don't think it does, just plug it into the computer and boom, an extra 4 terabytes. It connects with a normal usb port and is a small size for how huge the storage is. Perfect for gaming

great harddrive
It works like a charm, with my only complaint being why is the connector to the drive not just usb c instead.

Reliable and easy to use portable drive
No problems with this drive so far. It connects quickly, and file transfers are seamless and fast. Some people mentioned that the cable could be longer, but I only use it to transfer data from my laptop, so the length hasn’t been an issue for me. The drive itself is sturdy and compact, so it doesn’t take up much space. It also doesn’t get too hot while in use - at least not that I’ve noticed. Overall, it’s a great portable drive, and I think it’s worth buying from a reputable brand like Seagate.

Worked for almost 2 years, but Seagate sorted under Recover warranty, with Thanks
I purchased the Seagate Portable Drive, 5TB, External Hard-drive via Amazon almost 2 years ago. I've regularly copied various documents, videos, photos onto it since with no issues, (approx' 2TB worth), ensuring I always clicked on `Remove External USB Drive` before disconnecting. The drive stopped working, even though the small white powerlight was on, and I could hear the internal of the portable hard-drive spinning confirming it had power ok, but my laptop was displaying a warning that `Windows cannot recognise this device...`. I replaced the USB-3 cable with a new one, but still no joy. I tried all the Device Manager options, `Uninstall USB Driver`, Restart laptop, and other potential options, even following many steps from YouTube videos, but everything was confirming it's a faulty hard-drive. I contacted Seagate online and they were very helpful, prompt and confirmed my hard-drive was still under the `Recover date warranty`. After various tests on the device they took me through (in case it was a problem with my Windows Drivers, or other), it was then established that it was a problem with the hard-drive. Seagate provided me with a Returns Label (to post the drive to their Data Recovery Department, which I did. I was kept informed throughout and a few days later got confirmation that all my data had been successfully recovered, which was then soon sent to me on a new hard-drive. Brilliant news!! I really can't thank Seagate enough for their AMAZING customer service, smooth and prompt data recovery, and for the new hard-drive. Highly recommended and I will certainly stick to the Seagate brand.

It does what it is supposed to
I do like Seagate products as they work as described and the build quality and feel is second to none (at least in this price range). This drive is perfectly compact and easy to slip into a pocket, bag or even an envelope if needs be. The cable length is adequate, although I'd prefer a couple of extra inches - I'm sure I'm not alone in that sentiment. Another thing I like about the size, is the uniformity with other drives - for example, the width and length are exactly the same for a 3T and 4T drive - only the depth is different, which for me saves a lot of time and effort. I've had no issues using it, it has worked perfectly well since the first plug-in until now. Also, it seems fairly rugged and strong; it survived an accidental drop down a flight of stairs without even a scratch, unlike the phone that fell out of the same pocket at the same time!!

Linux compatible
Slightly bigger than a playing-card, thinner than a pencil, this is an admirably neat design. I went straight away for a format, in case it had buggy Micro$haft stuff on it. I used a live Mint DVD to partition the drive into a 1GB EFI partition, a 50GB ext4 partition for operating system(s), a 1.76TB ext4 storage area and a small swap partition to match my RAM. Everything worked first time. Then I installed Linux Mint 22.2 Zara on the 50GB partition. So, if my main drive fails, my system can boot to a situation that makes recovery possible. Enormous value for money.

This has been faultless after months of regular use
I have a lot of external USB drives, the largest was 2TB. So I was a bit concerned about going up to 4TB. But this has been attached permanently now for many months and no issues. I do recommend using a powered USB hub for external drives, less draw on the computer power and a lot easier and safer to remove and insert when need be. All my Seatec drives have been excellent, I only buy that brand now.

Incredibly simple to use, reliable, a nice, portable size (It can fit in the pocket of your pants !) and is able to transfer files at an acceptable speed. If you want more storage and faster speed, the 4TB version is better ... but that depends on your needs and budget. You cannot go wrong with SeaGate Products. I also own one (a different model) that is formatted specifically for Playstation, and it has never let me down even after accidentally unplugging it while the gaming system is on (which you should never do)
