## Description

BOSCH 17025 Oxygen Sensor

Review: Compatible with Holley Sniper EFI; 9000mi use so far - I purchased this as a replacement O2 sensor for the Holley Sniper EFI in my street car. It works just fine, no issues after 9000 miles. (I carry a spare O2 sensor in the car now, just in case. Wide-band O2 sensors typically don't last forever. The original Holley one died while I was on a road trip in Death Valley.)
Review: Quality OEM Sensor! - When it comes to sensors always used name brand OEM ones! These quality accurate Bosch oxygen sensors are just what my BMW Z3 needed to replace the OEM tried sensors. They fit perfectly and an exceptional value over the dealership and big box parts stores. They are super durable and came with the anti-seize compound already installed on the threads.

## Features

- Bosch Premium Wideband A/F Oxygen (O2) Sensors are designed for use with aftermarket high performance wideband kits
- Advanced Wideband sensing element for an exact air/fuel measurement vs. a typical oxygen sensor which simply sends a rich or lean signal
- Robust sensor design increases sensor longevity
- Seared protection tube due to 100% functional quality test
- True Direct-fit' OE connectors and harness; threads pre-coated with anti-seize compound right out of the box

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I have a doubt which one has if the 17011 or the 17025 or if they are the same sensor and only the code number changes. Which of the two is compatibl**
A: 17025 is a LSU 4.9 sensor 0-5v wideband reading

**Q: Is it normal for these to come "used" looking? The sensor end was very sooty and had obviously been run in a very rich exhaust?**
A: These say on this page, but all the ones I've seen look used because they are each tested and "burned in", meaning they're required to perform under normal operating temperatures for some significant period of time without flaw or failure of any kind.
I used to work in a place that made microwave radio equipment and we had to burn in each one, like 24 at a time, overnight, monitored by computer and tested at it's coldest range too. The data was monitored continuously and if any parameter drifted, then it was torn apart and adjusted and sent back through the burn-in test again, repeat. It seems like there's always one that can't be fixed. Those were recycled.
But anyway, an oxygen sensor is required to work in some extreme temperatures. Heat can change things if even the slightest thing is vulnerable or flawed in any way.
So, in my opinion, reading comprehension, plus experience, I'd be happy if I got one that looks burned in. If these other comments are correct, and they get shiny new looking sensors, that means YOU are their QC department. All the pictures of every sensor from every vendor looks browned.
That said, you said it looks "sooty" and carbon comes off on your hands? That could mean that it had been installed in a rich running car, true. However, it may be that they didn't clean it after burn-in during QC. However, it better not be shiny as a brand new penny, because that means you're their QC department. I have had that happen. They kept asking for more pictures. I felt like I should be on the payroll, but in China, ..?
Anyway, It's going to be a judgement call. I'm going to say that these should be tested in sooty conditions because that could happen on a cold day in any car. But it's pretty obvious that nobody cleaned it off. The question is why they didn't. If you were sneaking a bad part in a box, you'd think you'd clean it off, right? If I were you, I'd go with my gut feeling about it. If it's one of the more accessible ones, why not try it? It's not like you'll make it more sooty.
One reviewer said "buy 2 so if one is bad, you can simply grab another." It does seem to me that the hardest part is getting everything ready to replace a part and clean up after. So maybe that is the best advice. Buy another 1 or 2 so that if that one is bad you need only try another while you're under there. Maybe this is why OEM parts are so expensive. They'd better work or there's hell to pay. I never thought of it in these terms. But a $20 one? Get 2. These aren't $20 so I suppose people return the extraneous ones, if they're good or bad. Either way, they're looking for a refund. You know? The more I think of this, the more complex it gets. Since you're going to return it anyway, try it but wait until you've got another, just in case.
Sorry this was long. It's puzzling. Not as clear cut as the other answers. I don't think they've seen many of these. Even online, they're obviously burned. It's the soot that makes it complex.

**Q: Is this tha same as aem 30-2004 wideband?**
A: Sure is. I buy these as replacements for the AEM

**Q: How many wires does this sensor have please? I need to attach it to an Air-fuel Gauge having 3 wires**
A: That will not work no matter how many wires it has. Afr gauges are meant to be driven by a wideband controller. The sensor is the input to the wideband controller. The sensor isnt capable of directly controlling the gauge.
