I need it for product photography** A: They are vinyl and use a rubber band to create friction between the diffuser box and the light. You get what you pay for. I've used them for lighting during video interviews. They do diffuse the light but the light is still directional creating shadows. The shadows are not as sharp as without the box. They are no where near Professional quality, but if you want photos for eBay, they should work fine. If you are trying to sell a high end product on your business web site, hire a professional.
