Think a bigger vs. smaller gas tank. FYI: The numbers 18650 and 26650 simply are the diameter of a cell and the length, with a zero added at the end. An 18650 cell is 18 mm in diameter and 65 mm in length. A 26650 cell is 26 mm in diameter and 65 mm in length. The voltages are the same. In general the bigger the diameter, the greater the cell capacity, but that doesn't always hold true. Look for the mAh rating listed on the cell.
