But I always cut the rod to size with the landscape/tube cutter that I use specifically for cake decorating **Q: I never recieved this item and you guys took it out the orders** A: They were probably out of stock, try again. **Q: Do you need one of these per tier or will this do more then one tier? I'm doing a 3 tier cake and was wondering how many of these I need?** A: I like to put 3 or 4 in the bottom layer…one in the center and the other three around in about an one and a half to two inches out, depending on how big the bottom and the next layer is. This really helps with stability. I do the same on the second tier if there are more that 3 tiers.
