The trailer is very spacious for him and could easily cope with much bigger dogs. Lots of people seem to ask if a trailer will fit their dog. We measured our dog by holding a steel/diy measuring tape alongside him when he was sitting up straight and then by lying the same tape next to him when he was lying down. As we go on long journeys by bike (rides of up to 50 miles) he needs space to stretch out. The trailer is well made in heavy duty fabric. The floor is lined with a solid layer and made of a waterproof material. We will add a cushioned pad and a blanket for our pup. The front door opening has a roll down PVC cover for wet and windy days. Both mesh doors have velcro so that you can secure them in the open position....handy for getting the dog in and out without catching claws or the chance to chew the doors! There is a D ring on a tape to secure a harness if you wish. It is easy to put the trailer together and it only takes a few moments once you have done it once. The cabin of the trailer is formed by a metal arm that is under tension between the two side panels. In our last trailer this arm was held in place by two screws and had to be completely removed each time you folded the trailer down. There was always the possibility that you might lose the arm or one of the screws. This has been improved and the arm is now attached by bolts and clips. It only needs to be unfastened on one side and folded down to fold the trailer. This is a lot quicker than the old screw in design. It is a little fiddly the first time as you have to fit the receiving clip for the side that unfastens. The arm is a tight fit so you do need to pull quite hard to fit it into place. The trailer has larger, thinner wheels than our last one and we are hoping that will make it a smooth tow. When you fit the wheels check the direction of travel marks on the tyres to make sure that you fit them on the correct sides of the trailer. One of our tyres had been fitted the wrong way round...effectively giving us two left wheels....easily changed. We have marked the wheels L and R for future reference as that is a lot easier than trying to find the marks on the tyres once they are dirty from use. The trailer attaches to the bike by means of a coupling device that goes on the spindle of the rear wheel of your bike. It can be left in place so there is no need to remove your back wheel each time. This is a different design to the coupling device for our previous trailer so we needed to change the one on our bike for the new one supplied. The arm of the trailer has a spring loaded joint that makes for a smooth tow. The arm and wheels are all secured by bolts with clips. In our previous trailer these were tied on so they could not be lost when the trailer was being folded down. These weren’t supplied on this trailer so we will add them. Overall a really well made bit of kit and we hope to get many miles out of it! Review: Surprisingly well made! - I bought this as a bit of a gag for my Pomeranian to let him join us on cycling trips, but I’m surprised how well built this little thing is. Firstly my Pomeranian absolutely HATED it. This has more to do with my Pomeranian and is of no fault of the buggy. Actually, it withstood him frantically clawing, biting and burying wherever he could with no signs of deterioration. I actually think it’ll withstand a lot more trips but hopefully he gets used to it by then. The build quality is similar to a tent as far as the ‘housing’ is concerned. It’s secured in place using a pole at the back which keeps it sturdy despite no pole at the front. The mechanics are a series of detachable pins and it folds quite quickly. The wheels are another area of surprise. For some reason I wasn’t expecting real tyres, so I was surprised to discover road-worthy wheels. They did arrive in the packaging completely deflated, but are quickly inflated like any other bike tyre. The locking mechanism is good and I was surprised how little it rocked or wiggled, especially going down kerbs and uneven areas. Even with the dog going bananas in the back I only felt the slightest shake and was in complete control of the bike. All in all, I’m really pleased with this. Thanks in advance** A: I would recommend a harness if you are not going to close the zip , there is an anchor point inside so you can secure your dog to it.We just use her lead but feel happier to zip the front up, it is a mesh so plenty of air circlelatesYes a harness may be needed, there is a point to attach it inside. However if you zip up the front it isn't needed.. **Q: Will a Labrador fit in this?** A: My 25kg labrador fits in this both lying and sitting. She loves it and happily jumps in. Excellent trailer, easy to fold and better quality than i expected and easy to fit to bike **Q: Will this fit on a small bike ..i have a ion 16” wheel mens or womens unisex alloy folding electric bike** A: Should fit most bikes as long as you can take the wheel nut off one side to fit the attachment. You can leave that on the bike even when you dont tow the trailer as it isnt very obtrusive. **Q: How does this convert to jogging stroller** A: Hi if only 2 wheels it won't covert to a stroller I think you need one with 3 wheels!
