Rather than being just a collection of songs 'The Dream' seems to be much more cohesive and well thought out. It is a little over-produced in spots and a few of the songs are kinda blah but for the most part it is a worthy second effort. It is unfortunate that alot of the negative reviews focus on the bands move away from their metalcore sound rather than on the actual music. It is not a totally different sound than their previous efforts as some have said. They simply tried to do something different with their music and all of a sudden everyone starts screaming "sell-out." Hey metal fans, how about actually supporting these bands instead of bailing the second one tries something different. I find it ironic that after listening to metal for the last 20 years that metal fans still complain about other people not having an open mind but when one of their bands tries something different they go crazy. This is still In this Moment. If you like songs like "Beautiful Tragedy", "the Legacy..", "He said Eternity", or "When the storm subsides" off BT then you'll love this album. If you prefer their harder stuff like "Ashes" or "Next Life" then you might be disappointed but at least give them credit for taking a chance and trying something different. Try and have an open mind and give these guys and other metal bands your support because they need and deserve it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous - the bonus tracks are worth seeking out too *by T***H on Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2015* A masterpiece. Maria shows what an exquisite voice she has. As well as being a master of songwriting. A concept album about one womans rite of passage. It flows like spring water. I know some people like her screaming but I'm glad for this CD at least she took a break from it. Stand outs are Forever, All for You , Lost At Sea, the absolutely haunting Into the Light (which sounds like a personal account of the death of a parent - I truly don't know if that's what it is) and The Dream. If at ALL POSSIBLE try and find the limited edition which contains the bonus tracks Call Me (cover of the Blondie song), Dying Star and Sailing Away. These are NO filler - they are amazing. When time can be had listening to this beginning to end with headphones it will put you in a trance. Its such a joy to hear a band this tight who truly enjoys playing together. I feel this band only got better too - I am currently loving Black Widow but that is a VERY different album then this. Get this if you like powerful women in REAL rock - not some idiot who says Miley or Rhianna is rock. When they go with catching and bouncy with ripping guitars and stacked vocals it is fantastic. The vocals are incredible. It feels like they are on a border line and trying to decide which way to go. Loud and melodic is my hope. This CD has some sublimely cool moments. I find myself playing this all the time.
