WWE: Money In The Bank 2020

This DVD contains the full 2020 Money in the Bank event on a single disc. It was an event that takes place during COVID-19 so they were unable to have fans in attendance, which gives the show a very different feel from how things were before. It can be off-putting to some but they did the best with what they had. Thie DVD also contains the pre-show match as an extra.Jeff Hardy vs. Cesaro - This match comes from the pre-show. It was a good, competitive match. Cesaro controlled most of the action but Hardy was never too far away from making a comeback. They had more time than I normally expect from a pre-show match and were able to deliver an entertaining fight with a good, clean finish. It wasn't that memorable but is easily good enough that it could have been on the main card.The New Day vs. The Miz and John Morrison vs. Lucha House Party vs. The Forgotten Sons - The opening contest was this Fatal 4-Way for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship. It was a really fun, fast paced match. The action was non-stop and never slowed down. There were some good tag team moments and some really convincing near-falls keeping things exciting. It had a good amount of time and built to a decisive finish, a good start to the show.R-Truth vs. Bobby Lashley - This was meant to be Truth vs. MVP but things changed right before it started for some reason. It was a short match and there wasn't really much to it. Nothing they did was very exciting and the whole thing felt like a waste of time. Thankfully it was short and so didn't harm the show at all but it still wasn't good.Bayley vs. Tamina - This was for the Smackdown Women's Championship. Tamina really doesn't belong in a title match like this, she's awkward in the ring and doesn't really do anything well. Thankfully it's still an entertaining enough match, but that's 100% down to Bayley. Bayley's character work was great as always and she did a good job trying to make Tamina look like a legit threat. It had a good finish and was an enjoyable part of the show. Bayley brought Tamina to the best match of her career.Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt - This was for Strowman's Universal Championship. It started off ok, the action was nothing special but the character stuff from Bray was great as usual and Strowman was fine in his role. They did have appearances by the Firefly Funhouse characters which was a bit daft but I enjoyed that anyway. For the most part this was a good, if nothing special, brawl that was very easy to watch. Unfortunately the closing minutes of the match brought this all down for me, it felt a bit over dramatic, it may have worked better in front of fans but in this environment I don't think it did. A decent enough match with a bad ending.Drew McIntyre vs. Seth Rollins - This was for the WWE Championship and it was a great back and forth match. The action was constantly entertaining with plenty of reversals and some very good near-falls. There was some good psychology with Seth targeting Drew's leg, I liked that but wish it played more of a role in the rest of the match than it did. It had plenty of time and a good, strong finish. A really good, competitive fight and the best wrestling match of the night.Otis vs. AJ Styles vs. Baron Corbin vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Aleister Black ANDAsuka vs. Carmella vs. Dana Brooke vs. Lacey Evans vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Nia Jax -These were the men's and women's Money in the Bank matches, which both took place at the same time as our main event. It was a cinematic match that took place in the WWE corporate headquarters, with the men starting in a gym and the women in the lobby as they fight their way to the roof. It was the kind of match I can see a lot of people hating but I thought it was a really fun match if you don't mind the nonsense. There were plenty of fun moments as they fought their way through the building along with a few surprise cameos in there too. Some of it was goofy but it was all pretty fun. There were some people I wish had a better showing but I definitely enjoyed what they gave us. A strong way to close the show in my opinion.The atmosphere of these shows gives them a unique feeling that does take away a bit from the show but they did the best they could do with the situation they were in. They found good ways to counter that by keeping the show shorter than usual and having a cinematic main event. Some of the matches were nothing special but they were all easy to watch and didn't overstay their welcome. The main event delivered a fun experience and Drew and Seth had a really strong bout. The opening tag match was entertaining too. Not the best show but definitely not a bad one either. I enjoyed it.

Ok,so empty arena events are continuing and they just get weirder.Before we get to that mess of a main event,there's this.A tag title ladder match,4 teams. NEW DAY,MIZ AND MORRISON,FORGOTTEN SONS and lucha house party.This is a fun opener with some greeat spots but really nothing special,i prefered the wm match,but it was alright.R-TRUTH was meant to face MPV but instead we get to see BOBBY LASHLEY destroy him in a waste of time match.As funny as R-TRUTH is,this is just a waste of everyone involved.TAMINA tries to wrestle the title from BAYLEY in a match that was never going to be great,sure it was ok,but hard to get into. The story between BAYLEY and SASHA is interesting.BRAUN STROWMAN defends his title against old friend of the past BRAY WYATT. Oh god,i did not want to hate this but it was mostly stupid. We have puppets in the audience area where of course there is no audience and i couldn't help but wonder why i was watching it.The bit where Braun looks like he is being sucked in by Bray again is interesting,but the match is not good.DREW MCINTYRE defending his title against SETH ROLLINS is very good,match of the night by far. Yes,these matches really need an audience but it was still enjoyable.Well here it is,2 money in the bank matches going on at the same time...why?Instead of the usual ladder match we get a fight your way to the rooftop then use the ladders type thing..The women,ASUKA,CARMELLA,DANA BROOKE,SHAYNA BASZLER,NIA JAX and LACEY EVANS fight alongside (and sometimes with) the men,DANIEL BRYAN,BARON CORBIN,OTIS,AJ STYLES,ALESTER BLACK and REY MYSTERIO.These fight throughout the building aiming to get to the top and to the roof to where the ring and the cases are.We see an old BROTHER LOVE,a really fake looking DOINK,a stupid food fight,a fake case with STEPHANIE MCMAHON dissing the holder,clearly recorded earlier and elsewhere,we do have a funny section with DANIEL and AJ in the office of VINCE,but that was short lived. They rooftop action sees 2 men seemingly thrown off the roof (yep,really) and a fat man climbing a ladder joke and though i had no issue with the winners,the match was just stupid nonsense.Sorry,i have enjoyed watching wrestling for many years,but this was a mess.

Excellent WWE Pay Per View! I love how they did the ladder matches by starting both the women and the men on the ground floor of WWE Headquarters and they must fight their way up to the roof to climb the ladder to retrieve their respective briefcases.
