Britax Römer ADVANSAFIX M i-SIZE, Child Car Seat, i-SIZE (76-150 cm), Burgudy Red

This car seat was a replacement for our now outgrown Joie I-anchor (that was our upgrade after the maxi cosi Pearl to enable rear facing for as long as possible). It took me a while to decide on the right seat to change to. Our daughter is almost 5 but very small and lightweight, I didn’t like the idea of moving her into a basic seatbelt fixed carseat. So when I saw this has a high harness weight limit that will last us another stone in weight, and has isofix I was sold. It was swiftly delivered and the seat didn’t disappoint. It’s solid and well constructed. The only thing that threw me was the top tether. I haven’t had any experience with fitting or using tethers previously and it wasn’t mentioned in the listing at the time. It’s not a major issue but I wish I’d known as it meant finding the tether points in my car. So it may be wise to check if you have tether points before buying.However my daughter is very pleased with her new seat, it’s very comfortable and padded. And has a recline feature which will be good for longer or late night journeys.Overall britax is a brand that we’ve had many experiences of with our large family, and we’ve seen how far they’ve advanced over the years. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this seat to anyone who has reached the point of outgrowing an extended rear facing seat and is ready to move to the next stage. Car seats are the one thing I don’t like to scrimp on but this provides value for money and a decent seat to boot!

I haven’t found any flaws with this seat!It’s super easy to get my toddler in and out, the belt is simple to use and easy to adjust. The recline is the best I’ve seen on any of these seats for this group and my little one says the seat is very comfy. This will last her longer than other seats in this group (most harness to a lot lower weight restriction) and the added bonus that this seat is I-size. Very happy!

Bought this for my grandson who is just 3 and the straps only just about fit him at a push! Just not long enough and it’s so tight, it’s uncomfortable for him. Waste of money. I read the ratings on Mumsnet and they rated it one of the best. Not in my opinion. Wish I hadn’t paid so much for a named product.

Love this seat I always buy Britax as they test their seats more than what the UK require. It’s comfortable and easy to fit we bought it and went On a long drive to holiday and my daughter said she loves it as it’s so much more comfy.

Extremely happy with this seat. It feels very safe and sturdy, oozes quality and my little one loves it.

Sadly Amazon delivered the kidfix rather than the advansafix, which caused a lot of confusion for a couple of days, as the seat looked enormous and we couldn’t work out how we could possibly fit our son in it safely. They’re sending another one out, so we’ll see if it’s the correct one this time

The ADVANSAFIX i-Size was easy to fit in the car with ISOFIX and top tether. It is easy to do by pulling the lever at the back to extend the arms and then connecting to your ISOFIX points. The top tether hook attaches to the top tether anchor in your car which is usually on the back of the seat. Installation when used as a high back booster can be done with ISOFIX and the vehicle seat belt. Then to finish just unscrew the side impact cushion. This took about 5 minutes so it was super easy to install.The harness pads are soft and supportive and covered in neoprene which stops the straps from slipping in an accident. The harness height moves up and down smoothly with the headrest when you press the button at the back.Both my 3 year old and 6 year old love this seat and find it very comfy. It’s ideal that the recline positions work for both harness and belt strap as my older child still naps in the car and in this seat her head doesn’t fall forward.To swap from harness to strap It's easy just follow the guide to put the harness away by tucking it into the inside of the car seat. Great that nothing needs to be removed and potentially lost for future use!The SecureGuard adds an extra contact point for the 3-point belt to pass through which helps keep it in the best position over the child's pelvic bones instead of slipping up over their abdominal area.It flips up from the bottom, again just follow the instructions. There’s also a shock absorbing strap pad for the chest and shoulder part of the seat belt which is tucked away in the pocket at the back.It’s a slimline seat which is great if you need to fit 3 seats in the back.Overall we’re very happy with this seat and will be using this until they’re both 12 years old. Would highly recommend !
