Easy to use
I needed to get a new Making Memories Instant Setter since my original one stopped being magnetic and the tips wouldn't stay in anymore. Since I had the first one for 15 years I wanted the same setter again. New one works perfectly.

Good setter, but learn to adjust the tension correctly
This works nicely, but you have to be careful with the tension or you can end up smashing the front of your eyelets flat. I know this is supposed to replace using a hammer and the noise you get from that, but it's actually just as loud as hitting a setter with a hammer when you push down, which isn't really a problem for me, but others may want to be cognizant of that fact if they think this will be quieter than a traditional hammer and setter. Otherwise it punches the holes nice and cleanly in one push. At first I was smashing my eyelets and warping them something fierce, but once I figured out to reduce the tension way down I realized you still only have to push it down 3 times to set an eyelet and it will keep it's shape and not warp or smash like it does when the tension is higher. It's super easy to switch out the punch and setting bits, which is most of the reason I got this one, because they're magnetized to the tool and you don't have to unscrew or twist the bits. So far I'm liking this product a lot.

Was good while it lasted...
I purchased this setter on February 10th and received it very quickly. I started using it immediately and was impressed at the ease of use. I ran out of the size of eyelets I needed so I had to order more and wait, so it sat in my craft closet for awhile. Once I received my eyelets I pulled the setter out to put it back to use. I was on a roll setting eyelets when all of a sudden the setter stopped working. I set exactly 140 eyelets with it before it broke (four days after the "return date" passed). My fault for falling for such a high rating I guess. Like I said, it was good while it lasted, but I will replace it with a heavier duty one and hopefully not waste my money.

Nice idea, needs more power and stability
Plastic ends of hole punchers don't punch through 100# stock without three or four punches even at the strongest setting. Probably fine for lighter weight. "Trigger" gets out of alignment now and then and requires unscrewing the top and adjusting the works a bit, kind of like the innards of a ballpoint pen. If I had it to do over, I'd probably go with an old-fashioned hammer piece with a separate rivet setter, but I suppose if you like having the different sizes and don't use it over and over (as I do for a project that requires thousands of holes and rivets), it's a handy and inexpensive option.

Making Memories Instant Setter Sooo Great!!
I own a Hot Off The Press - Home Pro Eyelet Setterit is okay, just one click and you set the eyelets, but it kind of deforms them a little, specially those with shapes like stars or flowers, I don't know if I don't use it correctly, but I tried many ways and my eyelets always looked a little funny and I lost several shaped ones that got so deformed I couldn't use them, and since I couldn't use it on the middle of a 12x12 paper I figured I would try a different setter. The Making Memories instant setter is so easy to use and I love it because:1. You can place your eyelets anywhere.2. Even though it takes about 5 pushes to completely set an eyelet it is easy to do so, and I am 8 months pregnant.3. The eyelets looks great, nothing is deformed, not even the cheap star eyelets I bought, it has different sizes so I can finally use those 1/4" mickey eyelets I bought on Disney4. The case is pretty and organized.

Holes, rivets, eyelets anyplace on the page
When you teach art journaling, you really need a hole punch that works anywhere on the page. This is it. The fact that you can use the same instrument to set eyelets (rivets) has two advantages: freedom to set eyelets anywhere on the page, and one less tool to pack. It comes with several different sizes of holes and setters, a magnetic tip that lets you change tips easily and quickly, and a great storage box with lid and small mat to protect the table top from the action of the device. The tool works through spring action and the only part that isn't great is that it's loud. But it works like a charm, so it's worth owning and using.

Four Stars
This tool made attaching eyelets extremely easy. Worked better than a hole punch and the tool with hammer.
