TUF SHINE is great at cleaning off these silicone coatings and leaving a clean surface to be "dressed". You need to also buy the Tuf Shine Brush which works perfectly with the cleaner - buy them together. To use simply spray on a dry tire , let it dwell 30 seconds and then start brushing with medium pressure working your way around the tire. I start with about 12 sprays on the tire. You notice a brown mess coming off the tire - spray it away with a hose and start again with a few less sprays of the product - brush vigorously and rinse. Repeat four or five times per tire until the mixture become white throughout the brushing - this tells you that you got the gunk off. Make sure to also rinse the brush when you rinse the tire to avoid putting the crap back onto the face of the tire. You only need to clean the sidewalls and just part of the first tread block - not all of the treads. To make sure you have enough product to get around all wheels I would apply and rinse each tire 3 times then move on, then go back to the first tire and treat it again...this way you make sure that you have enough product to do 4 to 5 applications to each tire. Go ahead and use the product up as it having a little left over does you no good. Then use a good dressing to make your tire blacker and glossier - I like CarPro Perl, easy to apply, not too greasy, and no slinging of product to your paint when you drive your car - some of the greasier products may do this. Perl is applied with a cheap foam wax applicator - throw them away when you're done. Two coats of Perl leaves a darker and glossier looking tire and will protect the tire from the suns rays and keep it from turning brown. You can then maintain once a month by spraying the tires with a very light dish soap solution in a spray bottle, scrubbing lightly with a softer brush, and then rinsing. Re-apply two coats of Perl again. Also, make sure to review Sonax Wheel Cleaner Full Effect which will clean away the iron build up on your brake rotors and calipers and rims. This will not adversly affect Perl. Use Sonax first on dry / cool rims and rotors, let turn red (tells you the brake dust has dissolved) then rinse well. Wipe down rims and apply a good rim sealer - try Poor Boys Rim cleaner - cheap and it works well and lasts. Then finish off by cleaning the tires and applying Perl. Your "ride" will look great.
