Amazing drain-cleaning, takes a little finesse to work it right
This cheap little tool was a godsend for one of our bathroom sinks. It was the classic "slow drain" problem, which no amount of Drain-o or other treatments seemed to help fix at all. I even tried a plunger, but no joy there either. It just kept getting worse and worse. I figured for seven an a half bucks (and Prime free delivery), why not give this doo-dad a try.At first it was a little tricky threading the wand past the drain plug, and one side didn't want to go at all (for what would become obvious reasons). I got to a point about halfway down the wand when it didn't want to go any further. So rather than force it, I pulled the wand back up...and with it a wad of gunk. I know, it's gross and disgusting, but I cleaned it off with my fingers anyway and went delving again. And again. Each time, I'd bring up more gunk. After the third or fourth go, the wand actually went all the way down and a test run showed the sink was already draining better than before. Eventually, I tried going down the right side of the stopper and ended up pulling out the biggest lump of grossness of all.But after that, and a few more probes with the wand to be sure I'd gotten everything, the drain was running totally free again. Yes, I was also able to clean off the wand end so I'm expecting to get more than a few uses out of it. They say to 'sanitize' it for reuse, but I'll probably just soak the end in some antibacterial soap solution or something like that; I'd imagine a run in the dishwasher might make the plastic brittle and I don't want that. We are talking about a drain tool after all -- it's designed to get dirty.Anyway, this is my top advice: Go slow. Be delicate. Use no more than a little pressure. If the wand hits an obstruction, don't force it. Just try to twist the handle a little and pull the wand out. You might not get everything (in fact you probably won't) but every little bit you pull out of the drain is that much less of a plug in the way. Don't be afraid to clean the gunk off and go again. Yes, I do wish the wand was a little sturdier, but at least it got the job done and I'm happy to have a fully functional sink drain again. At this point, my only regret is all the money I wasted dumping Drain-o down that drain.

You won't be disappointed, only disgusted at the amount of hair this thing pulls out
Our shower drain had been very slow draining for a while. Finally I got sick of it and tried to remove the plug to unclog it with my trusty clothes hanger, but the screw was stripped. Yes, I could have brought up my drill and drilled out the stopped screw, but "ain't nobody got time for that!"Enter the drain weasel. It was small enough that I could stick it down the drain around the stuck plug. At first, I tried to turn it a couple times and plunge it, and although I got some nasty hair boogers. I wasn't impressed. The turning didn't seem to work because the rod would flex and twist itself. I was about to give up on the weasel and go get the daggum drill. But, after getting the kids down for bed, I decided to have one last go with the weasel. I stuck it down the drain as far as I could get it to go, and twisted the handle several times despite the rod flexing and twisting, as I slowly pulled it out of the drain. What emerged from the drain is best described as a horrendous, 8in hair turd. I'm so thankful that my kids were in bed because they might not have ever gotten into the bathtub again after seeing the monstrosity that was pulled from the drain. I almost texted a picture to my husband but I was honestly afraid he might vomit at our church men's beer night.Although disgusted, I was now determined to try it on all our drains. And it was sick nasty awesome.Very satisfied customer but highly recommend users who are quick to vomit (I'm looking at you first trimester prego) to find a spouse/partner or friend who won't judge you by the nasty hair turd you will surely pull out of your drain with the Weasel.

Easy Process for Clearing Drain
This was such a simple fix to fix my clogged sink. I tried draino, then I tried the intense draino and it still didn't unclog it. It turns out the problem was just a gross amount of hair. The attachment piece was easy to attach (but hard to detach). The end of it is just the rough part of a pair of velcro pieces. It is small enough to fit in sink drains without taking out the center stopper. There is a round thing that helps lock the attachment in place that you use to spin the top in the drain, this is effective in gathering more of the gross hair in the sink. Pulling is up is relatively easy but if it is a lot of hair, it takes some effort to ease out of the drain. Now the con was taking the removable tip off and throwing it away. Its really gross so you don't want to touch it long, but it did take some effort to get it off. Additionally, it won't fit in your bathroom trash so you need to think ahead to you're not carrying this gross thing through the house dripping everywhere.

Very disappointed
Very disappointed, bought this product based on reviews of how effective this device is. In real life, it does not work, the plastic tube is simply not flexible enough to reach the problem (even with a standard tub drain). I have a standard Kohler tub with lever controlled stopper. I removed the stopper to get best access to the drain pipe, however the Drain Weasel plastic tubing simply does not flex enough to get to the problem area where the clog or hair ball is. After many tries it was only able to grab just a little bit of hair, that's it!
