It would need to be off for 1 minute.** A: I just figured mine out, for this very purpose. I wanted to have my router and modem reset once a week. I set program #1 for Mon-Sat. Time doesn't matter 4AM on 4Am off, for example. This makes the timer not change for Mon-Sat. Next I set program #2 for Sunday only to turn off, then back on. On at 4:01 and off at 4:00 (one minute off). The most important thing to change is the ON/AUTO/OFF function. This changes the timer from normally on or normally off. The timer cycles from On to auto(power on), then off to auto(power off). Test this with something plugged in and on. Normally on and powered on will have the red light brightly on. Normally off and powered off will be a dim red light. **Q: How many Watts does the unit itself consume?** A: According to the technical details on the product description page , this timer consumes a fairly high 1725 watts.
