With that said, the best results for a leather cleaning product tgat I personally have ever used were from Coach—incredible, but just too expensive for me to continue to use on a regular basis. But, yeah, whatever Coach was using was simply amazing. Matte leather, with a thin coat/ thin use stayed matte for me, albeit a tad darker. "Shiny" leather like on pieces of a western saddle positively SHINES. If I used a lot on a matte leather, it would be super shiny too. Very little goes a looong way - but refrain from use on suede (unless its dire).
