This tool cuts great. I expect that so long as I use it as it as it is designed to be used these blades will last a long time. Hope this helps. **Q: Can these cut 18 gauge stainless steel or 16 gauge galvanized steel?** A: CAPACITY IN STEEL: 18 GA. **Q: Is this good for cutting steel duct?** A: "I think if you would cut with a 1/2" grinder all the way around, then use this tool to trim off the burrs, you would have a nice cut. I use this to make cuts for metal roof installations. I've not used it in steel duct. It is an excellent tool."
