Gone through at least a dozen pairs of shoelaces due to that. Shoe weight is extremely light, and they are one of the coolest temperature boots I have worn, great for the Southern California summers. Soles do not squeak when I am walking at the supermarket, always appreciated, and I have not had any slipping issues, and I walk through a lot of grease slicks. All in all, very nice boots.
