## Overview

Wolfenstein for PC offers a classic multiplayer experience infused with occult themes, featuring intense combat, unique environments, and a variety of upgradeable weapons and powers. Players must navigate the challenges posed by Nazi forces while leveraging supernatural abilities to prevent the unleashing of a devastating weapon.

## Description

Classic Wolfenstein multiplayer with an occult twist reminiscent of the heart-pounding and award winning class and objective based multiplayer of Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Amazing enemies the Nazis throw at you next as they bring their dark fantasies to life. Epic combat moments that unfold in movie-like action sequences as you fight to prevent the Nazis from unleashing the power of the Black Sun, a war-ending weapon of supernatural mass destruction. Unique environments overlapping this world and the Veil, a world between our reality and the occult underworld that offers you combat advantages but also new supernatural threats. The ability to battle with a diverse collection supernatural 'Veil Powers,' as well as Allied and Axis conventional weapons, all up-gradable via an in-game black market.

Review: Classic Game - Although some may not like this game, I love it. It was a big leap in graphic from Return to Castle Wolfenstein and not boring. I started with Wolfenstein 3D and have all the games in the series so far. The negative part is if the DVD gets damaged you can no longer play the game, it is as bad as if you have no internet you can not play most of todays games.
Review: A great game but with a few problems - Once I found out that a new Wolfenstein was going to be released I was very anxious. For those of you that enjoy first-person shooters with a touch of RPG style weapon modifications you'll most likely enjoy this game. Like most first-person shooters you can carry an unnatural amount of weapons and ammunition on you at any time, which I'm okay with. Like with Wolfenstein games of the past you'll get the standard realistic WWII weapons (German ones only) as well as the not so realistic sci-fi weapons (Tesla gun, particle weapons, among others). And by the way disintegrating Nazis with the particle weapon is a lot of fun. Throughout the game you have the option to add some very handy upgrades to your weapon using gold you've collected throughout the levels at the Black Market stores. I'll start with the good things. The music is first class, at times you get the feeling you're listening to the soundtrack for Indiana Jones. The sound effects are well done as well, weapon sounds have a very satisfying punch to them. The graphics and textures are top notch, whether walking through a street in a town in Germany or through a cavern underground the textures are colorful and the models are extremely detailed from guns to characters. The story itself is engaging and entertaining and the cut scenes only make the story better. Load times on this game are super short, the main menu loads in less than 5 seconds and level loads are a maximum of 10 seconds. Overall there are more good things than there are bad and if you are looking for a good game that will keep you occupied for several hours and is definitely worth the money. Now for the bad, keep in mind these things don't outweigh the numerous good things, these are just some things that annoy me a great deal and in some cases make me feel that the developers either gave up on some things or just didn't care. For starters, the absolute worst of them is no anti-aliasing, I'm not sure if this was developed first for XBOX and then ported to PC or not but I don't care, computer screens these days have extremely high resolutions and often times the users of computers aren't sitting much further away than a few feet and nothing is more annoying and destructive to the realism of a PC game than jagged edges on the edge of every object. Every once in a great while a great game is released that is marred by the absence of anti-aliasing, and lately I've been hearing the excuse that the type of rendering that the game uses doesn't allow for anti-aliasing which I think sounds like giving up. Enough on that. A strange bug is that I seem to be having problems getting the key binding for a grenade throw to stick to what I told it, not sure what thats all about but a patch may take care of that. The last thing is, if you plan on running this game at a high resolution with the quality settings higher up, make sure you have a really good video card, my year and a half old card just couldn't handle it (this isn't really a problem with the game, just something to keep in mind) so I had to crank the resolution down to make it play with a good framerate. Get this game if you want to be entertained and have a machine that can handle it and don't mind the lack of anti-aliasing than you're in for a good time.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great game but with a few problems

### ⭐ What happened?
*by P***R on September 19, 2009*

Let's start on a positive note, I enjoyed playing through single player (SP). I'm not exactly singing it's praises, the story and gameplay aren't revolutionary or inovative. The SP game itself is good for a few playthroughs or until you find all the items in the game, SP has very little replay value. The game seems like it was intending to be a sandbox game but fails, it's linear, period. You have 5 "optional" areas to head to other than the main story areas; even those are stright up linear. They only offer a little side note to the story and just serve as more areas to serch for loot. The upgrade system for weapons is meh, seems more of a hinderance than help, they could have done better. I cleared the game in less than 12 hours on "I Am Death Incarnate", and a good portion of that time was poking around for loot to get 100% completion. The game is rent worthy. I didn't feel ripped off until I "attempted" to play MP. I don't remember there being a public beta for this game. Hell, I didn't know the game was being released until I happened upon a video on Youtube. I'm sure if they ran a public beta the people who have been waiting for this game would have canceled their pre-orders. Now a month after release, Amazon is selling it at a reduced price (32% off!?), that fact surely speaks volumes. Having played both RTCW multi-player (MP) and Enemy Territory heavily for about 3 years, this game's version of MP is sadly disappointing. Both RTCW and ET had a unique flavor for MP which I enjoyed. The MP in this game seriously lacks polish and inovation, the maps seem to be speedball arena's, something you would eventually see released from the mod community. It's like they focused on making this game JUST for the consoles, hell they expect you (by default) to have a console controler for your PC. I don't like playing FPS's on consoles, aiming is usually akward and slow compared to the controls of a keyboard and mouse. I seriously would pay money for id software/Activision to simply just improove on the graphics and gameplay of RTCW/ET MP to modern PC's.
